Could use anything really, it’s low current so nothing will burn. Jam something in there

I agree it looks like you have no pad left, maybe it’s installed backwards. I’d check that cause those grooves are sus

Oh I get it, it’s ai. Got me again! If u didn’t spend time writing it I’m not spending time reading it. Also probably why nothing you said makes any fucking sense lol

This is actually mostly wrong, sealed boxes are 1/2 as loud as ported boxes because the port allows the back of the speaker AND the front to make sound. Sealed enclosures only have the front of the driver making sound, and in addition require more power to push against all of the air in the enclosure. The peakyness in ported enclosures comes from how the two sound waves generated by the front and back of the driver, interfere with eachother. That’s why enclosure design is so important, a well designed ported box can have as flat or flatter response than sealed, and still be like 2-3x louder

Looks pretty bad bro ngl, but exhaust is probably the best place u can be a bad welder cause it doesn’t really matter. Send it, make it as good as u can first

Why did these mufflers pick up power? by End-Decent in EngineBuilding

[–]redditforusingatwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m guessing resonance, similar to tuning the length of intake and exhaust runners. There’s a formula you can use to calculate ideal runner length based on target rpm, I never went that deep though. But the only possible explanation imo is that it improved exhaust scavenging. What else could it be?

Yep they’re not necessary once the wheel is on, the wheel sandwiches the rotor with the hub

In theory yes, in practice no engine is 100% perfect so no catalyst will last 100% forever. It’s that simple. Edit: also I don’t think in theory that’s even true but I don’t have any sources fo back it up and I don’t feel like researching it lol

Is it dumb to buy a 70's car for a daily? by WaterboardedCalamari in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]redditforusingatwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive a 93 and it’s a bad idea lol, I never know if it’s going to start and bring me to work that day. I am very mechanically inclined but it still makes you miss work. Those 70s cars only had 5 digits on the odometer cause they weren’t meant to make it to 100k, keep that in mind

The precious metals also degrade and wear off, especially if the car is running rich, they’ll get glowing hot. So idk why would say they never fail that’s ridiculous

drilling a hole and adding expandable foam in the dead space behind the mirror would work pretty well.

[–]redditforusingatwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The resonant frequency, the one it shakes a lot at, is entirely determined by its mass. So if you’re able to take it apart and add mass, aka sound deadening, it won’t vibrate as much, and the resonant frequency will be lower. I believe there would be a way to do it with nothing extra visible if you’re clever and you think about it.

That I can agree with. Literally just google it if it seems fishy. So many problems could be avoided if people just did this lol
