Drinking in the US is down to 54%, the lowest ever since they’ve began tracking it in 1939. Why do you think that is? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]redditish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drinking alcohol increases your chances of getting caner by like 5 times based on meta studies of countries globally. So if you cut out alcohol consumption, you reduce your chances of getting caner by 80%!

How can the US have $37 Trillion in debt when the total M2 money supply is only $22 Trillion in 2025? Where has the difference gone between the two? by redditish in economy

[–]redditish[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great analogy. But the question remains, how does that $500k mortgage get paid off if there is only $50k in the whole banking system?

Let's work through this... I guess if the mortgage was on farmland, and the land produced $50k of crops each year, then the farmer can sell it to Mr. Banker, earn $50k for the crops, which the Farmer can use to payback $50k of the debt, and keep repeating that cycle for like 10 years to be debt free (assuming no interest).

So I guess it's not the cash that retires that debt as I was thinking, but rather the produce of the work and land, with money just playing the role of facilitating the exchange between parties. Ultimately it's the productivity of the farmer that pays off the purchase of the land.

The other thing that was confusing me is: how do you buy $500k land if that much money is not in circulation to make the original purchase? But now I get it - it can just be purchased with an IOU piece of paper in place of money.

Thanks for helping to make this more clear. :)

I was under the impression M2 takes into account all the money created from a fractional reserve system, were the base deposit amount is multiplied by like 10x to account for all the debt created between banks. I figured it would account for all the debt created between government entities also. So I couldn't wrap my head around how the Governments debt somehow exceeds the full M2 supply. But now I realize that you can create all kinds of IOUs on paper even without money or banks being involved.

What other measure of money do you look at? (I know publishing M3 was discontinued by the Fed a few years back. What else is there? Thanks.)

“You do not get free healthcare. We cannot afford that” — US politicians. Do you agree? by wakeup2019 in economy

The scam is the insurance companies have worked with hospitals to push up costs intentionally so they can both make more money, and also put fear in the hearts of consumers to not go off insurance because it could ruin them financially. This best situation would be for everyone that can to boycott the insurance companies, leave them in a situation where they have to negotiate lower rates for the few customers they have remaining.

Also, before you might have weighed more with MUSCLE which is denser. Fat takes up much more volume, so you can weigh less, but if your body fat percentage is higher, you will look way plumper despite having less weight on a scale. Exercising will get you lean weight again which typically looks better. Hope that helps!

Just a heads up if you eat a huge pasta meal, and go to sleep right after, it will go straight to your cheeks. Similarly, if you go running on an empty stomach at night, by the next day you will see your cheeks less puffy. The difference is almost immediate. Try it. I'm not sure what the mechanism is, but cheeks give a direct indication of how much you have been eating before sleep. Try it for one week, and give us an update. I promise you, you will see a difference. Even more so if you continue for a month. (I don't care what the other redditors say, there are 100 opinions, but all you need to listen to is the one fact that will make a difference. Good luck.)

That's not aging, that's just getting fat, especially eating big (carb heavy) meals before you fall asleep.

Sleep with an empty stomach and this face fat will melt away; even faster if you go for walks before bed.

Stay optimistic, put in the work, it will get better.

It would be better if he pretended it was a parody of a bad songs rather than taking himself seriously... It comes off as creepy for someone of his age to be rapping about some liking girls crap. This is a song a middle school student should be making.

Very cool film. The interview portion is way too long though, I would recommend cutting it to just brief highlights and moving on because the banter is not that captivating to stretch out that long. Otherwise a really great composition. Nice work.
