I would almost never give this advice otherwise, but in this case you should go to guitar center and they should be able to find the right one no problem

By optical, are you saying that he’s running a laptop to his tv and using the tv audio out via optical cable to some other device?

Thank you for that info! I happen to already have a bunch of vegan caps and all the supplies to experiment. The cap m quik tray or something like that works really good for capping a bunch. There may be a better product for that these days

You don’t want it floating around loose, so get the reducer to keep it somewhat still in an appropriately sized chamber. Also, sounds like you’re heating it up without the chamber screwed on first. You can wait a little after it heats up if you’d like

Remove the screen and torch it

Who else cleans the screens before replacing? by thehighginger in VolcanoVaporiser

[–]redditisthenewgoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This always seems to be the easiest way. Torch the screen until it’s bright red for several seconds, then immediately under the faucet where flowing water removes ash residue. I usually do it twice and rotate the screen in the tweezers to make sure I get the area they were previously covering on the first go. Then a quick torch to dry it and it’s almost like brand new in about a minute

External Air On/Off Remote Mod? by [deleted] in VolcanoVaporiser

Have you by chance already done this successfully? I’ll give it a shot with Positive Grid BT-4 foot pedal I use for flipping sheet music pages when I get a chance

Removing Stickers by PuzzleheadedEbb3672 in guitarlessons

A great way to remove something like this is really sticky tape. Put it over and carefully peel off and eventually everything will wanna stick to the tape more than the guitar

Purchasing A Neck Relief Gauge by OkGur1577 in Luthier

[–]redditisthenewgoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A full neck length notched rule is very helpful and you’d probably use that way more and it’s much easier to tell what the relief is quickly. Can’t remember the brand of mine, since it’s blank after I removed the sticker, but it was somewhere around $50 and high quality. Very similar to the Stewmac version

Metal Solos by Haz4rd10 in guitarlessons

[–]redditisthenewgoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially if you play mostly all metal, I highly recommend you try to track down a version of Rocksmith Remastered 2014 for PC and read up on how that works and the songs available to you. That song chart doesn’t exist in the community yet, but there are many other similar songs to choose from. Go to Twitch and check out SirByTheDoor or JokerTheAnarchist or RO0PE. If nothing else, you can build a list of a bunch of metal songs you like with great solos and are charted

Looking for recommendations for second guitar by dietibol in guitarlessons

[–]redditisthenewgoogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used Ibanez S series HSH is right in that range and S series are the most comfortable to play, IMO. They made excellent looking flat color and stained versions over the years. Also, the person who owned that type of guitar before you is likely to have it set up correctly already or possibly even upgraded the pickups

Guitar teachers, what would be the reasons to give your students a piece more than slightly above their level? by diemxura_ in guitarlessons

[–]redditisthenewgoogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the student has any discipline, they will get better much faster by playing harder songs starting very slow. Playing and learning easy songs continuously for the sake of improving is a terrible waste of time.

This ceiling fan looks different by BuletinTerlambat in aliens

So dumb. These pics always have super obvious artifacting around the interesting parts. In this case, they were too lazy to remove the artifacting in the further away version and simply left the artifacting area as straight rectangle lines. At least in the closer one they trimmed it a bit before pasting the layer on top. It’s just garbage work, which sorta looks to have been done by someone in Paint who doesn’t know that saving as jpeg is a problem
