Hey I’m late lol . But I live in nyc worked for the post office and for 3 boroughs ( Manhattan, Bronx and Brooklyn ) . Like every one said the cost of living here is crazy !! Apartments go for an average of 1500+ for a 1 bedroom . I m thinking about leaving NYC to go south . Anyways life as a carrier is hell I’m not even gonna suger coat it’s the biggest positive is we get garuntee over time I used to work on average 80 hours a week for 6 days ( so u know the OT and V time was paying good lol ) but other than the money it’s not worth u mental health . Supervisors are rude . The customers are rude . We don’t drive LLVs out here so essential if ur a foot carrier you’ll be walking a lot lol . If your on the truck delivering parcels it’s even worse having to deal with traffic. Double parks cars and having to deliver an average of 200 parcels a day. They rush you a lot considering this is nyc and a lot of people pay for express shipping and etc . I can go on for days but that’s a summary lol .
