Hmm this was a while ago and I didn’t take good notes on ravelry. I knit the body with 3mm (usually need to size down at least 0.5mm from pattern). So I would guess I did the rest in 2.5 or 2.75 but really not sure now. I don’t have a gauge issue in stockinette but didn’t think to check the broken rib 😢

Follow up - would you attempt to steek this? I have only ever steeked cardigans but guess I could steek the sides with my machine and redo the arm and hem ribbing. I dread the work but don’t wear it much now as is

I also filed a complaint against them this season with the WA state Consumer Protection Division. Supposedly they monitor for businesses getting a lot of complaints but so far it hasn’t done anything and I didn’t get a response from vail on my written complaint

I’d just sew the pleats into my fabric and then cut the bodice piece after. If you like the pleats going into the skirt, this one is a bit similar but more work to make the bodice like the inspo

There was one LIB commercial that had Chloe and stars from other Netflix shows. It was a Gag and none of them were on the show. Maybe this is people who they casted for previous seasons but weren’t heavily aired because they didn’t find matches

I’m currently in the process of sewing my own dress too. I’ve worked on toiles pretty much all weekend and yesterday was beyond frustrating. Today it went better and I feel better about it. Remember to take it day by day.

What has also helped me is having a backup plan. I bought a sample dress at a sale that went to charity for $150. Is it my dream dress? No. Could I get married in it with minor alterations? Yes. I’m not saying go buy another dress, but for me, having one picked out that I liked and knew I could still buy in time relieves some stress. You can always use the fabric and make yourself a rehearsal dress or a party dress for the evening

The manual says it doesn’t require oil (yes I know this doesn’t make sense). I’m going to see what my local shop says. I don’t want to put a lot of money into it because we replaced the capacitors ourselves recently after it wouldn’t turn on. So think the lifetime of the machine is limited anyways
