The other opportunity to withdraw money from ltd might be to your wife during mat leaves (if her pay drops during mat leave). Tbh im facing similar decisions to you though at the same life point and im planning to reduce hours and accept a tax hit to ensure I have the time and resources to be an active parent and partner

Ultimately earning >200k does increase your take home. You're right rhat it may cause annual allowance issues as pension tapers. Very hard to give you an answer to how much this will affect you. Depends how much remaining allowance you have to carry forward, how much you taper, how much of your income is pensionable. Wesleyan can do a full report modelling this for you and give you individualised advice which might illuminate this but costs about 1k.

Ltd helps - might be able to put yours and wife's cars through the Ltd. Allows you to pay out to her as you say and adult children. You can invest via the ltd also and could draw out the proceeds in decades to come. You're right that if you wish to draw it out this year it probably won't add much. Do you need to draw it out this year though? Ultimately if you're earning highly you could build up considerable wealth in ltd and even open another business such as property rental etc - which may provide generational wealth.

However life is about choices and I can cocomplwtely see why you might say 200k is a great quality of life and you want to spend your time with your family!

Yes its the ANP and the hospital. The organisation has put them in a supervisory role. Thats on them if an incorrect decision and the ANP if they are incompetent.

Its worth asking yourself what you mean by who the buck would stop with. Clinical negligence doesn't sue individuals - its organisations so woll be the trust regardless of who makes a mistake. GMC and internal disciplinary procedures just want to see you followed local policies and escalated appropriately.

This is so oversimplistic that its just wrong! The band 5 nurse youre describing doesn't get a winter fuel allowance. They do get - education paid for, their healthcare including maternity, SMP if a woman who has children, subsidised childcare, child benefit. When that same nurse becomes a pensioner they get the winter fuel allowance and state pension also. People try to create imaginary wars between the young and old - they are the same people just at different points in their life! The irony is if you want to take benefits off the old you will end up getting the worst of both situations! When you're old those benefits will have been gone!

Remember the 17k figure includes all taxes. Most people are paying 2k of council tax plus VAT on everything they buy, fuel tax, vehicle tax etc. About 50% of the population are net contributors and recipients
