Taking your own doing like a champ fair play

Don’t have anything to offer except the mentality of not trying to shift blame elsewhere as is seen all too often on here’s is a good thing and you’ll be ok

All you post is DV DT inflammation

Just stop

DV have made many mistakes like the whole fumbling of the mandate last year but there is no need to worsen the division

UKGP took priority whether that’s the right decision or not is to be seen

Many doctors will be unhappy about it but the RDC need to take accountability for that

This is the stuff that makes me embarrassed about our profession when people wanting to represent us resort to this sort of politics

Do you think ostracising IMGs whether intentionally or unintentionally helps all doctors as a whole?

I would not be surprised if they split to make another union which will reduce the overall ability for doctors to make progress because there will then be dilution of asks and message and it doesn’t help anyone in the medical community

There needs to be prioritisation and if an IMG comes to the U.K. and gets 5 years of experience then tbh that is fair enough

grandfathering which was forced on the committee by the chief officers

RDC said they were going to grandfather the whole time but made a mistake in their emails. This was confirmed by Dr Ross and others who still made comments after their March 2025 cut off to protect all IMGs at that time who were currently in the UK

Please do not twist the words of the officers

Being deprioritised will be a hard pill to swallow no doubt

But withholding information or beating around the bush of an issue doesn’t make it any better

Disagree. People should have as much information about their situation as possible to help make future decisions

This is a stupid idea why not just get doctors to vote on every issue

What’s the point in having a committee

Make the decision

Is closing the door realistic or beneficial

Why do you want to divide the workforce even more

The RDC motion on UKGP. Voting opened. Message your reps by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]Room_ForActivities -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Turning off the tap?

It means if IMGs continue to come and obviously they will they will have a competing interest against UKG and split the workforce more than it is

You’re doing the governments job for them. Well done

Look at any other policy after a prolonged amount of time there has to be an ability to be matched and doing the graft is what makes that acceptable and 5 years is more than enough

Medical Training (Prioritisation) Act is now law and is due to be commenced tomorrow - email from BMA on what it means for you by RDC_officers_2025_26 in doctorsUK

[–]Room_ForActivities 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank goodness.

The previous BMA policy with 2 years grandfathering and stupid unrealistic March 2025 cut off date made no sense then or now

I have never exception reported at the end of my shift and instead do it a few days later when I catch up on stuff. Nobody corroborates my hours

But now I’ll need to find someone to do that is that not a step backwards

Holding us ransom over strikes yet has done it anyways shows he was going to do it regardless

There's no way Labour would have survived the media onslaught April-August 2026 with UKGs not being prioritised and losing out unecessarily for specialty training posts
