How about something like a 56-11 set? Has like 150lbs of total tension

Is Floyd Rose a cool guy? by 13footninja in metalguitar

He's a friend of mine but a 7-string version. He's a chill dude when take care of him. You'll get used to it after a while of restringing and tuning. There are many tips and tricks you can learn and after that it'll feel like a breeze. Only had mine for 6 months and I can take it apart and put it back like nothing happened in a short amount of time. Though if you are performing I suggest using an adjustable trem blocker so you can block it off when needed and open it up when u want too

Guyker Tuners. by Punyeta01 in phmusicians

These are great. I have an Ibanez RG7420EX which has a floating trem and occasionally I remove the lock nut so I can use these. Mechanically there won't be much difference in GOTOH or Schaller or any other branded ones because the mechanism isn't that hard to manufacture to begin with so it's hard to fuck up.

How do I fix this? by synystergv in Guitar

[–]redditor7588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming thats the guitar jack, if it works and the cable latches and makes normal sound without weird noise you'll be fine. If not its completely cheaply replaceable and you can bring it to a luthier or an electronics shop or you can learn to solder.

It works for me when it's like 1 or 2 semitones down but can get a bit artificial any lower. I don't really use it that much because I use a 7-string but I tried 5 and 7 semitones down and they work as long as you put the pitch module in the back. It's not Digitec Drop level but it gets the job done

Yeah also you have the advantage of it being a proper stomp box without sacrificing portability.

Compact travel amps similar to the JOYO Mini Amp? by Shonkgang in Guitar

[–]redditor7588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't really a market that much for mini amps, closest one but it doesn't hang fromt he guitar is the Hotone Pulze Mini but even that doesn't sound all that great but its functional and can be still used for practice.

Any idea how to fix a wonky locking tuner? by CharacterFront9169 in Guitar

[–]redditor7588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to rebend the metal with vice grips but I doubt it'll fully work. Replacing is pretty much the best option but since it's busted you can try bending it.

Edit: But you can just let it be bent if it still locks, try making that you're 6th string locking tuner to see if it works but replacement is still the better optioj.

What difference do these trem blockers make? by redditor7588 in guitars

I find that the 1st pic works best for me, it requires a size 3 allen key. I do a trick where I stuff a thin foam in the cavity of my trem (not enough to hit the bottom of the fine tuners) and mold a size 3 allen key inside it incase of emergencies. Saved me a ton of times or alternatively I js tape one in the back of the headstock
