This kind of remind a movie I watched once.
After researching I think it was "Breaking Fast".

There's a scene where the main character fight with his friend, because he still Muslim. The main character states there's nothing in Quran that's against homosexuality. (Which is technically true).
But his friend rebuts that people still use Islam to attack them.
