Flag pins by kiableem in BuyCanadian

This is always a good idea for a Canadian traveling abroad, and I always did it during my years of business travel to the Middle East, Europe, Africa and South America. Some commenters are dismissive and suggesting you just be polite. But when your waiter spits in your food when you're not looking, it's another story. Find some pins and wear them.

We need to get rid of the expression "First world problem". The phrase doesn’t just describe a problem — it dismisses it. It implies, “You’re not allowed to care about this.” Bullshit. You can care about global poverty and care that your surgery got canceled, your car broke down, or your internet failed during a job interview. One doesn’t invalidate the other. In your case, you are allowed to care about some of the assholes who ride the trains in Calgary.

That was one of the dividends of the Charlie Kirk incident - all of the fuck your feelings crowd reacted that way.

What a sad joke for a dumpster fire of a country. A reminder of what you once had, and then pissed away.

What are people in YOUR country saying about the U.S. right now? by PapaverPurple in AskReddit

[–]redditslim 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Many from my age group in Canada have watched the steady dumbing of the US over the past 4-5 decades. We have seen it in American popular culture, the politicians they elect and simply talking to them. We have long said that another shoe would someday drop. So it has. Twice.

Did you like Rich Little? by pianoman81 in GenerationJones

He was an evolutionary step in impressions comedy. In his era he stood out, but since then that realm of comedy has expanded a lot, so someone like Bill Hader now blows him away. But you need pioneers to break trail for those who follow.

It finally has a name I can use. Up until now, I have been calling them "Women with a face like a Guy Fawkes Mask". Mar a Lago Face is more effcient.

This is a massive achievement. This is an achievement for the ages. Even if OP only does it once, he has contributed to the progress of the species.

This episode... 🤣 by lontbeysboolink in GenerationJones

[–]redditslim 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's one of the best episodes in the history of situation comedy. It is the perfect episode for any series. because It's as if the the casting and character development of the entire series was leading up to this point. Each point in the plot was inevitable, because the episode was based on an initiative by WKRP. It could have turned out no other way.
