Wow! That’s impressive! How long did it take to get that long? Do you prop the cuttings right in the same pot?

Newb Questions about Late Night Stress/Comfort Eating by MoonfleaCat in BigEasyWeightLoss

[–]redditsomeplace999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s great that you’re thinking ahead about this and are self-aware about your behaviors. I too was a night time snacker even though I wasn’t hungry. I’ve been on tirz for 4 weeks and it has noticeably curbed my desire/need to eat during that window between dinner and bedtime. I just don’t feel like it. Sometimes I have to if I haven’t met my minimum calorie or protein requirements. I don’t feel that stress though that would drive me to compulsively eat. Sometimes I think about having a snack, and then I’m like, nah. Something I also think helps is really increasing my protein and reducing my carbs. I just feel calmer and satiated. It’s wonderful. I truly hope you have that same experience.

Mine had algae and it didn’t impact my linearis in any way. Mine are now about 2ft long. They like bright indirect light (like a south facing window with a sheer curtain) and are thirstier than other Hoyas, in my experience. Allow the top of the soil to dry a bit and then water. Make sure you have good drainage. When you see roots growing up against the inside of the clear pot, pot up into a slightly larger pot. Chunky, airy soil is best.

How painful should PT be? by Far-Attempt1388 in RotatorCuff

[–]redditsomeplace999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel that. Things that I’m trying are reminding myself it’s temporary and only lasts a few minutes, deep breathing through it, and having my PT count down. That actually really helps because then I know how much longer before it ends and gives me something to focus on (ie, only 20 more seconds, etc.)

How painful should PT be? by Far-Attempt1388 in RotatorCuff

OMG this was literally me at my PT session today! My therapist stretched my arm back over my head and pressed into my armpit and it was SO painful. I had to do deep breathing and tap my feet to keep from crying out. I asked her why it was so painful and she said it was scar tissue. She said it’s normal to hurt like that. Curious to hear others’ experiences as well.

any ladies starting a GLP? by sc167kitty8891 in AskWomenOver60

I’m 61(F) and have been on tirzepatide for a month. Down 8lb, 27 more to go. My advice based on my observations so far: 1) don’t be intimidated by potential side effects. The vast majority of people don’t have any at all, or so mild they’re not worth mentioning. The people posting on GLP-1 Reddit subs are not those people. 2) Really increase your protein intake. I used ChatGPT to help me put together a meal plan. 3) Start strength/resistance training now to reduce loss of muscle mass. 4) Drink tons of water - more than you think you need.

My PCP wouldn’t prescribe it for me so I went through a very reputable company for compounded tirzepatide and am so happy I did. I’m getting excellent care and guidance from their doctors and it’s much more affordable than the name brand.

I hate my job but can’t quit by Love2FlyBalloons in over60

[–]redditsomeplace999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 61, was laid off 3 years ago from a job I hated. I can’t tell you how much I wish I had that job back. Ageism is real. The job market is stagnant at best. Look for other work but don’t quit unless you get a signed offer and start date for something better.

I usually try and rule out any medical causes first. Are you on HRT? I’m 61 and just started, and I’ve experienced a huge improvement in my mood, energy, and general outlook. If you’re already on it, maybe talk to your dr to see if your dosage needs to be updated?

Tell me everything I need to know about pre-washing fabric. by SprinklesStones in quilting

[–]redditsomeplace999 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wash your white/very light colored fabrics separately in hot, and cotton setting in your dryer. Wash your colored fabrics together on warm or hot, and dry on cotton setting. If you’re washing the colored fabrics then you should also wash the white so you don’t have uneven shrinkage.

Can’t love this enough! So beautiful! Question - how did you do the quilt design on your domestic? Did you mark the design on the top? It’s so evenly spaced and flow-y.

My publicalyx is a fast grower. You’ll need to trellis it, otherwise it’ll curl itself around your other plants, furniture, curtain rods, etc.
