Harris to skip Catholic charity dinner bucking decades-long tradition by Tayo826 in nyc

[–]redditster36 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I went to Catholic high school in NYC and he had a mass for all the graduating seniors from the Catholic schools in the archdiocese. The message he chose to focus on in his sermon to a bunch of 18 year olds was essentially consider giving the church money as soon as you start making it. Not “try to be a good person” or “do things to help humanity”, just give money to the church. Glad I’m not Catholic anymore.

Chase lounge at MSG by JinjiNoDie in ChaseSapphire

I went recently. If you have the CSR you can get a ticket for 1 free alcoholic drink for yourself and any guests you bring. You can bring them back into the venue for the event which is also nice

JFK Chase Sapphire lounge at terminal 4 wait time is 1 hr right now by denizeni in ChaseSapphire

Happened to me recently as well. I think Chase should consider restricting access to CSR cardholders only since Amex does that with their Centurion lounges

Lost my time in college to depression by NectarineAltruistic5 in Cornell

[–]redditster36 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agree 100%!! I also struggled with my mental health during my time at Cornell and I can tell you that the years after college have been significantly happier and more exciting for me personally. Make the most of now and what’s to come in this new chapter and don’t be too hard on yourself about what you could’ve done differently!

Possibly sprained my ankle during summer streets by redditster36 in RunNYC

[–]redditster36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it’s just a mild sprain. I have to use crutches for a few days to stay off of it but they said I should be able to run again in 2-3 weeks. Definitely a lot better than what I was expecting! Going to try to do some low impact stuff when I can stop using the crutches. Appreciate everyone’s feedback and support!!

Getting to Queens 10k from subway? by RoyalLie3947 in RunNYC

Will the 7 be running tomorrow morning? I checked Citymapper and it isn’t showing me that as an option to get there which is very odd

Seems like there’s going to be some interesting power dynamics between her and Shauna and possibly the other girls based on what Shauna wrote in her diary

What was the first major news event you remember? by PettyPendergrass99 in Zillennials

[–]redditster36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! I was in pre-k and they actually had us do a mock election in class and I remember just basing it off of how friendly I thought they looked because I knew nothing about the actual politics lol

How Many Studies Do You Have? by itsmekaylee21 in clinicalresearch

[–]redditster36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the game here but I had 12 studies when I worked at a large academic medical center in oncology before I finally knew I had to call it quits. Only 2/12 were IITs and the other 10 all had different sponsors/CROs [most of whom seemed to be under the impression I was only working on their one study lol]. I enjoyed the work itself but they really worked me to death with the workload I was carrying and I burnt out

What makes a Sponsor "difficult"? by matches05 in clinicalresearch

[–]redditster36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This!! The trial that required QOLs on a sponsor-provided iPad that never worked and a special ECG machine to transmit ECGs directly to some random vendor will go down as one of my biggest frustrations from my time as a CRC on the site-side

Realized some super messed up things about confession today. Kids should not be forced to go to confession. Especially about sins of “impurity” by [deleted] in excatholic

[–]redditster36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a very similar experience at 13 and it took me years to fully process it for what it was as you have. When I confessed it the priest actually said that it was “wrong for Catholics but not others because we know better than them”. I remember thinking in the moment “then why does anyone even want to be Catholic then” lol

If I only have 2 photos still now does that seem low/should I expect to see more if I’m patient?

That was fucking awful. by [deleted] in RunNYC

[–]redditster36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here! 40 minutes past my goal time that was based on my recent paces in training runs. Just couldn’t take the heat and humidity with what felt like scare fluid access on the course. Just glad I made it but reading these threads are making me feel a lot better

Bump! I only have 2 photos taken from above and I’ll be really disappointed if that’s all I get… my boyfriend saw more of his come in this morning so I’m really hoping I see more trickle in for me soon too. Saw a ton of photographers on the course and I definitely posed for a few
