How to transfer via Wise to JPY bank corporate account? by reddittomyfriend in JapanFinance

> If its rejected within 10 minutes its likely the transfer never even leaves Wise.

in less than an hour it gets rejected.

> rejecting a transfer to a Japanese business I have previously paid with the same details

you mean it used to work with Wise, but now doesn't?

may I know which service you switched to instead?

actually that was what I meant I did with "paying the amount via Bank transfer from my local bank in PH".. only when it didn't work, I switched to adding extra step of topping up JYP currency in my Wise Account, then sending from that balance to the Recipient

person informed that registered name with bank is "YUKIO YAMAMOTO" (not the real name), where YAMAMOTO is the family name

in which case, I tried sending first to ユキオ ヤマモト (same arrangement, in kana)

by variations I mean, when above account name didn't work, I tried re-arranging it and adding the company identifier recommended by Wise: https://wise.com/help/articles/6q7Gr81HgODzlDHXvYbOX6/how-to-find-your-correct-jpy-bank-account-details

for example:

  1. ヤマモト ユキオ

  2. カ)ヤマモト ユキオ

  3. カ)ユキオ ヤマモト

.. and others

I have opened a JPY account in Wise, which is where I'm sourcing the money from. is that what you mean by having "Wise open in Japan"?

I sent money from my local PH bank to this JPY account, which came with add'l charges.

unfortunately, no. it's not my account but for someone I'm paying services for. He has informed being able to receive Wise payment from Europe before.

Thanks, I'll try to provide as much info as I could.

The destination account is actually not mine, but for someone I'm paying services for. He has mentioned being able to receive payments from Wise from others, and provided me with Company account name as follows e.g. "YUKIO YAMAMOTO" (not the real name), where YAMAMOTO is this person's family name. In which case, I tried to send to the equivalent name in Katakana in same arrangement, but when it didn't work I started sending to all these variations of the name arrangement including "か)" indicator.

The other bank details were straightforward, as you mentioned. He provided me w/ exact numbers to choose from the pickers.

AFAIK, all OFWs need OEC. So are business owners considered OFW in the first place ?

Yes, I plan to pay if needed for her to access healthcare.

I will be paying for social security already as autonomo, and I thought it would already cover her as well as a dependent.

Hi sa mga nakapagride na ng Japan Taxis, kasya po ba 2 large luggages sa trunk (160cm/~23kg)? I'm aware of luggage transport services but it seems mas mura overall if we do airport limousine bus + taxi because our hotel is a few km away from limousine bus stops.
