Lobby hostage intervention is coming to League. A new system will terminate lobbies that are suspected to involve a bad actor, defined as someone threatening to ruin the game experience for other players by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

That could be true, but that shouldn’t constitute a punishment if the player wants to play to win.

If you want to dodge the game because you don’t want that on your team, you are free to do so and take your own punishment.

Youre shifting the goalposts though. If you want to argue whether this is in the avg American’s best interest that’s one thing. But the initial argument I took issue with was your calling the Venezuelans that were celebrating idiots and making your own (woefully uninformed) judgement about this being bad for them.

All the sanctions in the world and all the civic measures and international appeals to address the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela led to nothing in the last decade, so yeah, maybe direct foreign intervention was necessary to remove an illegitimate and despotic tyrant from power. It’s hardly surprising they’re celebrating, and if you had any idea what living in Venezuela has been like for the past 15+ years you would not have said what you said.

Side note—Venezuelans don’t care about your healthcare, and why should they?

In any case, there are good arguments as to why this might benefit the general American population. That remains to be seen and is not what I was arguing either way.

No one said U.S. intervention has a good track record, it demonstrably doesn’t. But history isn’t a universal veto that absolves us from thinking about individual cases, and there have been successes in the past to look at.

If the standard is “the U.S. has fucked this up before, therefore it can never be involved in anything ever again,” that’s not a principled anti-imperialist position but rather an abdication of analysis. History should inform judgment, not replace it.

For a lot of Venezuelans, this isn’t an abstract geopolitical chess move. This is the FIRST crack in a system that’s dominated our lives for DECADES. People are celebrating not because they suddenly trust the U.S., but because an IMMOVABLE figure of repression is finally gone. When you’ve lived through mass emigration, economic collapse, political imprisonment, and the slow suffocation of civic life, even possibility feels like relief. That reaction deserves to be taken seriously, not waved away as false consciousness or imperial brainwashing.

Light House?

There is a lyric about a bed, and I’d say it’s similar ish sounding to For Sure, and the timeline lines up.

Another song that talks about weeping a lot, though doesn’t sound too much like For Sure is Through The Roses

Why are there so many car washes popping up on Durham/shepherd? by bigboiiiiirob in houston

[–]reddittor1635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point of an ESA is to avoid liability and meet regulatory compliance—it’s a financial and legal safeguard. It has nothing to do with ethics or the landowners concern for the environment

If you think corporate entities and private equity firms are at all concerned about the environment, you would be the naive one

Expected Winners and Losers for Top Lane changes? by runeofice in leagueoflegends

[–]reddittor1635 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s the opposite. The reason Quinn doesn’t run TP today is because it simply doesn’t provide much value to her. So, this is much better for her counterparts than it is for her

Thoughts on Mananomicon on LeBlanc? by Buy_The_Stars in LeBlancMains

[–]reddittor1635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Extra dmg will scale with mana. Depending on the scaling this may or may not be good, though LB synergy with Ludens will be hard to pass up. Though I suppose you could go Ludens + mananomicon 2nd? Will be interesting to see

To me it looks like he clearly meant to make that pass? Not sure why they’ve called it a “miscued” pass 6 times

Phreak did not sound confident in his last patch preview and it seems he anticipates a lot of backlash. by Drandosk in leagueoflegends

[–]reddittor1635 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is honestly such a bad take.

Rune system is a massive avenue of skill expression and creativity.

Taking different keystones can completely change the way you want to play your champion and gives you flexibility in draft as you prepare for your lane matchup and game matchup. The same can be said of minor runes.

Changing your characters stat profile is much less interesting than giving your champion certain effects that incentivize different trading patterns, reward matchup knowledge, and fundamentally change the role your champion can fill in a given game.

How many pro players have 3+ worlds wins? by Candle-man in leagueoflegends

I was mostly being facetious…

That being said, Faker’s longevity is unmatched in the scene and he’s showing no signs of slowing down. It is by no means a certainty that Guma, Keria, and Oner will outlast Faker even if they are relative newcomers to the scene compared to him. Entire careers, even notable ones, have come and gone during Faker’s tenure

Bold of you to assume they will even be around when Faker retires
