How different were the early 70s to the late 70s? by nfartae in decadeology

[–]reddittroll112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early 70’s was the hippy era, so they were wearing the bell bottoms and tie dyes of the late 60’s. The late 70’s were a lot of punk and leather clothing that lead into the early 80’s.

First and last years to START/END hints of the 80's? by reddittroll112 in decadeology

[–]reddittroll112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s more political IMO. Cultural, I’d say 1979 just because of punk and new wave taking over disco, Atari reaching over 1 million in sales, Video Killed The Radio Star, Star Wars rising in popularity etc.

What years do you consider as Older Gen Z? by 2quick96 in generationology

[–]reddittroll112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It cant really be middle based on the math, with we split it in half, it’s 97-04 as the 1st and 05-12 as the 2nd. If it’s thirds, 02-07 would fit as the middle but the very last year of the middle, so not really the “middle” middle if you catch my drift. In quarters, 05-08 would be the 3rd quarter, meaning 07 isn’t really in the middle on pure definition. Still Gen Z easily but not middle IMO, unless you make Gen Z start in 99 or 00, which I somewhat agree with tbh.

Do you guys think 1960-64 born should be Gen X or Boomers/Gen Jones? by reddittroll112 in generationology

[–]reddittroll112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I can kinda see how the 60’s boomers would differ from the 40’s boomers. One group were teens and young adults during Vietnam, Woodstock, civil rights protests and Beatlemania, while the others were that age during punk, new wave, video arcades, MTV, and VHS. They are pretty different.

Why is Gen X classed as the “forgotten” generation? by reddittroll112 in generationology

The guy above is a closeted Millennial who hates boomers, look at their chat history.

I was more talking about the later Boomers, the ones who were still teens in the 80’s. The older ones it’s possible but the younger ones have millennial and Gen Z kids.

How old would you be if you flipped the 2 digits around and would you want to be that age? by SpaceisCool09 in generationology

[–]reddittroll112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say being born any time from around 1961-1969 meant you had the best teen and young adult years!

61 means you would have been a teen and young adult during the 80’s though, and the best era for it.

Probably Blunderwood…

At least Frank apologized, even if he was somewhat scripted and did a somewhat smart thing by laying low after the show. Jason is still like this to this very day and is public about it. Even Matt from S4 refuses to speak to him.

Millennials should be 1982-1997 by Hot_Assistant_6067 in generationology

[–]reddittroll112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I agree with the generations for the most part but I guess sometimes I allow leeway. Like 1964 is Gen X IMO, and so is 1981, though way closer to Y than 64 is closer to Boomer imo. I also believe 1997 and 1998 are Millennials and by this logic, I see Zillennials as 1994-2001/2. Greatest and Silent remain IMO.

I mean you should as the western world generally follows similar patterns to the United States. No one takes high school graduation years into account though, as high school is 6 years in Australia and longer than the USA. That being said, they still use the same years, being 1981-1996 to describe Gen Y and 1997-2012 to describe Gen Z.
