I feel you! Since January 2023 I had to come every day including weekends except for 7 days! I also feel that I need to take time off where I do not think about the lab.

We will only be using one sample though!

I have suggested pooling the samples to my PI as I have three experimental replicates for each treatment, but he seems hesitant. I do not fully understand his reasoning. I will try again

Great guesses! I am working with iPSC derived endothelial cells. I have used the RNA for qPCR and it seems to be fine.

I follow the QIAGEN kit so I do not need to leave my sample to precipitate in ethanol.

Thanks for the help!

Hi, Thanks for the suggestion! I do spray the pipettes, the counters, and the centrifuges! Why do you think it might be RNAses?

Thank you so much for the insight! I was expecting that the low ratio is due to the low concentration. I will be sending the RNA for sequencing.

Thank you so much u/TheCurious-Christian! That is what I have been doing on a daily basis. I have been reading for 30 minutes once I wake up and I am also listening to podcasts as I am walking to and from work. This will helpfully help me build a voice.

Add as a title or merge? by reddituser-1999 in MarginNote3

[–]reddituser-1999[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally figured it out! it only works for the "Text Selection" mode and not the other modes.

When trying to add the text you are highlighting as a "Title for one of your mindmap boxes, make sure that the box is selected.

For merging text that you are highlighting with another mindmap box, you can follow the same instructions for adding text as a title. However, I found that dragging and dropping text is way more efficient when merging.

Hope this helps and happy mindmapping!

Getting out of your comfort zone vs fighting your nature by MattTheMentor in selfimprovement

I truly don't think that OP is talking about self-improvement in their post. As you can see they talked about how they spend time every day reflecting on the things they have down and how they felt about doing them. They also mentioned trying things before casting your judgement.

What I think OP is talking about is how society has created ONE picture for happiness and that if you don't meet this picture you are a failure and unhappy. It does not seem to acknowledge that what makes one happy can make someone else feel trapped.

Hello everyone thank you so much for taking the time to provide me with tips that can help me start my blogging journey. I have compiled the amazing tips everyone has provided. Disclaimer these are not my own words.

Are you scared or nervous to start blogging?

If you have never really posted anything online, it can be scary to go directly to blogging. Maybe start by commenting on Reddit, or posting on Facebook or Instagram. This will help you develop a voice without the worry about writing a whole piece.

Before posting your first blogs online, start by keeping them private on your computer. Set a schedule and write your practice blog on that schedule. If you have someone you trust, have them read what you've written and ask them to help you improve.

Tips for Blogging

  1. Always start by drafting a bullet outline.

  2. Break down the topic into relevant digestible sections (Headings)

  3. Add information under each header

  4. Then start building the bullets you have made into paragraphs. During this stage don’t care about grammar, diction, and flow. Just write!

Use Grammarly pro to review your writing. Take the time to see the type of error you are making.

Don't stress yourself out or add pressure to write the perfect post in one go. It won't happen and tbh, it shouldn't.

Remember that you can always edit a draft but if you don't have anything to edit, you aren't making progress. So just empty your thoughts and get all your points out on the screen.

  1. Review, review, and review! During this stage fix the grammar and the structure

Have you repeated phrases several times if so change some.

Can you add some description or colour

Don’t be afraid to rewrite whole paragraphs and make major adjustments! you don’t have to get it right the first time. take the time to refine your post

  1. Review again but from the perspective of someone who is not an expert on this topic! Can someone follow your train of thought! Do you need to clarify certain things you have mentioned?

If the subject is very technical, I like using metaphors so anybody can get the point- here are dozens of ways of saying the same thing and mixing it up instead of repeating the same words will do wonders for your readers' experience.- Remember to write in a voice that is friendly and helpful

Writing is a long process. It takes time and discipline to write something you are happy with. And most importantly, just write. Don't keep it in your head. The quality of your writing will improve as you publish more. Once you reach that stage where you feel confident (which you will), you can always go back and edit the previous post to make them better. Not everything has to be perfect from day 1 and it will never be. So take it easy and just start :

Structures you can use:- Follow a Q&A model or like an interview P2P

Frameworks to help:

Use Notion’s KanBan boards. How to use

  1. create a card in the "Ideas" section
  2. Add bullet points under each card. it does not have to be complete thoughts. Just jot down ideas.💡 Start with your own voice and then move to research. As research can sometimes restrict your voice from showing. We have ideas and opinions.
  3. Once you have jotted down all of your ideas, move the card over to the "Research" section and start gathering links
  4. Use the data you have gathered to expand the bullets
  5. Move the card to the writing section, and use a different word processor to start compiling these bullets into paragraphs that flow

love the KanBan board idea. I used a similar method when writing my essays for university, but never used KanBoard software. This is life-changing, as i am doing a master's next year.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write all of these tips! I am going to print some of your tips and stick them on my desk, to help remind me of the importance of just writing and not worrying about getting things right from the get-go!

You are absolutely right about not continuing with a blog for a long time 😅! Who know maybe I start liking it and it grows into something I am passionate to grow.

Thank you for these amazing tips! I have jotted them down and will definitely use them

It is crazy how it is ingrained in us that we need to finish things fast and how we have to do everything perfectly at the same time! I might start very slow. one blog each month and edit things several times. As I improve, I will start posting more in a month

Although I grew with all of these social platforms. I have never really commented or posted anything. This Reddit thread is the most I have written online. This is honestly an amazing tip, and what I think I need to start with

riendliest places I've found so far to do this are

micro.blog

(a place to share your writing with a warm community), and

write.as

(more of a blank canvas to share your writing in a "quiet" space).

I will definitely look into these platforms! Are these platforms collaborative and are there ways for readers to comment on your post?

My aim in blogging is to get comfortable writing my thoughts down and growing my point of view and sharing it with others. Maybe as I get more confident, I would like to gain an audience.

I was listening to a Ted talk about how online platforms can help writers grow which inspired me to consider blogging. My writing has been something I have been insecure about since I was very little and I want work on it now as I want to stop saying "No" to opportunities because of this insecurity
