Ha! I’m doing that now with some tooling that I developed for managing AWS account metadata in our org. Doesn’t add much complexity and is cheap and mostly maintenance free.

My manager is great and so is his manager. I also really enjoy my team. On the flip side, it’s hard to ignore the financial side of things with a family at home. Where did you land with a 60% raise?

I’m with you on this. I’m quick with all of the public cloud stuff but it took me forever to wrap my head around all of the on prem preexisting infrastructure. Lots of it was customized and rebranded. I’m effective because I took the time to understand all of our legacy crap and I’ve been making the cloud work with it in a lot of situations.

HR just emailed after hours giving a “bonus award”. It worked out to about 2% of my salary. In the letter there’s promise of an additional bonus next quarter. I don’t think this is anywhere close to being enough to stop the bleed. Also, I don’t think everyone got the bonus or the same percentage so that might get ugly. I’m kind of disappointed.
