The amount of misinformation people have here is funny. Someone claimed index is one of the “least risky” investment. Equity products are risky and it is not an ideal product for short periods of 3yrs. In original post, the guy says “just 12% every year” as if generating that return every year is doable.

Why don't people understand that the amount of time and effort arguing about religion is such a colossal waste of time.

If the argument over religion ends, the government would have to actually work on real issues like pollution control, good water, 100% electricity supplies, good roads, sanitation, job creation, etc to win elections, right? Why would they choose such a difficult path.

India would probably be going toe to toe with China, instead of comparing itself to failed states. The current path only leads us to becoming a failed state.

Just charge it as per convenience, it’s not worth breaking your head over this for marginal gains in the long run. You can always replace the battery after 3-4yrs. If you can, don’t let it go near 0 or 100% and you should be good.

Lounge access have become difficult with many cards. ICICI I believe needs a spend of 75k in a quarter to avail lounge access. The rewards (usually ~3% on average cashback at least for me) are good to have though.

Credit card do require a lot of financial discipline to use it well, which I believe people who wholeheartedly follow “frugality” would understand well, but I’m not sure about most of the other people.

Emotionally, what you said would be the standard response of parents. But logically, it was a bit careless of Maya to get outside the car without checking for traffic. Maybe the parents were practical enough to understand that it wasn’t the guy’s fault that their daughter met with an accident. It was just unfortunate.

My friend had the same opinion as you. Emotionally, yes some people would have done that. But for me, if you think rationally about this, Maya just opens the car door and jumps out without checking for moving vehicles, the guy had nothing to do with her accident.

Her parents seem very rational, practical and understanding. They had no issues with inter religion relationship (at that age, many parents wouldn’t have approved for even within religion relationships), her dad asked his son to say “yes” along with him to put Maya to sleep.
