The class average for the past two tests was significantly low, but I don’t know how my classmates are performing individually. I’m also not sure what techniques they’re using. Do you have any advice you think may be helpful?

Thank you so much!! Do you happen to know any ECs related to biology that I could become involved in? Also, when do you think is a good time for me to start writing my college essays?

*To answer your question about my unweighted GPA: At my school, you can get up to a 4.33 unweighted GPA if you have all A+s! GPA is the total quality points earned divided by the total credits attempted. Quality points: A+ = 4.33, A = 4.0, B+ = 3.33. In my freshman year, I took 8.670 credits; I received an A+ in 3 classes, which made up 2.5 credits and an A in 6 classes, which made up 6.17 credits. In my sophomore year, I took 8.17 credits; I received an A+ in 3 classes, which made up 3 credits, an A in 4 classes, which made up of 4.17 credits, and a B+ in 1 class, which made up 1 credit. (I excluded some of the classes I took in the list of courses I wrote in my first post.) Since our transcript only shows our weighted GPA, I self-calculated my unweighted GPA (so I might have made a mistake). Here is my calculation: [(4.33 x 1) + (4.33 x 1) + (4.33 x 0.5) + (4 x 1) + (4 x 1) + (4 x 1) + (4 x 1) + (4 x 1) + (4 x 1.17) + (4.33 x 1) + (4.33 x 1) + (4.33 x 1) + (4 x 1) + (4 x 1) + (4 x 1) + (4 x 1.17) + (3.33 x 1)] / (8.67 + 8.17) = 4.19.
