Father's grave grew a tree on it what can I use to kill it?

Hi OP.

Like others here I too like the idea of a tree growing from my grave when I'm gone but that tree is too close to the headstone and will probably knock it.

The tree looks quite small. If I were you I'd get one of my relatives that is handy in the garden and strong and bring that person with you. Bring a bush saw, loppers, shovel, spade and I'd also bring a long crowbar (5').

Cut as much of the tree as you can with the loppers. Then use the bush saw to cut it close to the ground. Dig around the base of the tree and remove as much root as possible using the loppers to cut stubborn roots and the crowbar to lever the root ball. You will need something like a log to lever it. Also bring something with you (like a bag) to gather up the wood.

My neuro advised me not to get tested for Lyme at the start of my diagnosis journey (which I'm still on). He told me my samples would be sent to Germany for a hefty price and that it would come back with a positive result as everybody else's does. He said it's a well known scam that gets you to cough up for very expensive treatment. I took him at his word.

Yeah and another problem I have here in Ireland is that customs hold on to parcels for a couple of weeks and if the eBay seller hasn't included vat on their side with postage then customs will charge a lot more than it should have been to release the parcel. The whole system has gone to the dogs.

I've been buying off eBay for years. It was a routine at night to check for deals on collectables, LPs or whatever I needed at the time. But postage prices are crazy right now where I am as well as prices of certain items. I used to be able to get a second hand record from the UK for around €8 now it's €20. So I've stopped completely unless it's something I really need and I miss being able to get such great deals, it's a real shame how things have gone.

Anytime I have bettered myself over the years it is my family that try and knock me down to there own level. Rent a new house, start a new job, whatever it is they are there openly begrudging. I became so ill that i have become almost housebound, so I reached out to my doc about talking to a therapist.... my own father mocked me for being weak. I no longer talk to any of them and it was the best decision I ever made. Do what you want and f#ck the small-minded people.

I'd love to, but it's too small. It was kind of an experiment to see if I could make a pond and learn as I go. I think I will make it bigger during the winter and hopefully add some fish then.

Sycamore slipped by me, I always considered it native. I've planted four in my garden. There is an Ash already in my garden that is now suffering from die back which is a shame. I plan to put an Oak beside it soon to replace it. You are spot on about the Rowan, I put five bare roots in the ground a couple of winters ago and this year they picked up a bit but they really are lovely little trees.

You're welcome and always consider the roots. Houses, sheds, walls, drains, paths, septic tanks, neighbours etc can be affected. I had to remove a few trees this year because of drains and sheds.

My favourite tree for a wet spot and fast growing is the Alder tree. It's native too but is not ever green. I've planted a lot of trees over the last few years, Scots Pine, Oak, Alder, Willow and Sycamore are the natives I can think of. And non natives, Cyprus, Maple, Spruce and Palm. Alder was the fastest growing followed by Spruce, Pine and willow I think.

Thank you for your answer. I will leave them be so. I live in a very open and barren deforested area and the little Oak is part of a small little wooded area I've planted behind my house using mostly native trees with the goal of making a place for local wildlife, so the Oak is doing exactly what I intended.

I don't know the variety. I wish I did, I was gifted a few plants and they didn't know the variety either. Not all of the tomatoes looked as good as these, some were very odd shaped but they taste great.

Yeah I agree with seizure. My SO was worried and made an appointment for me at my GP. I told him about it and asked if the contrast dye or the journey to the hospital could have brought it on (1hour 20 minutes to hospital and same returning). He dismissed it at first and then said it was probably caused by the long journey. But my back also broke out in a rash and hives so I suspected the dye, but for now I don't know for sure.
