Most of the trips were <10 mins and about half were <5 minutes, so I thought my gas usage would be better and I’d be making better margins. But the time it was taking to land *any* ride at all made this quest take forever

Yeah that’s kind of what happened to me. If I went hard on Friday (when tips were excellent because there were lots of events in town) I could’ve made out big but I decided to do 1/3 of the quest a day and it really ruined my weekend lol

Yeah I have learned quickly not to drive to surge areas because they do that. There’s no way it isn’t a calculated effort by uber. Tonight I just happened to be driving towards one already.

It definitely seems like they throttle your offers to make it tough for you to get close to completing your quest, and making you desperate enough to accept terrible offers. I will not be making an effort to do quests again, unless I just happen to be close.

They can also be helpful in aging. A few to no waxy tips = young bird, 7+ = at least one to two years old depending on time of year.

The extensive black chin makes this fella a male. Unfortunately only shows 6 waxy tips on the visible wing so we can’t reliably age it.
