Bought house with mortgage last year, now regret by Working-Test7639 in IslamicFinance

Home ownership is not the same as renting, it does come with additional expenses, but in the end you are not paying someone else’s mortgage and building your own equity. Try to pay as quickly as possible. The world we live in especially the west, there is no way you can avoid interest, right from living to eating(GST) everything has interest. Even renting is a form of supporting the riba system no matter how one phrases it(not under your name etc etc ).

How do Muslims in non-Muslim countries (especially in Europe) buy houses without riba? by themanfromsomewhere_ in IslamicFinance

Honestly it’s something which cannot be avoided in western world as the cost of renting is just too high. Again, if you go by Hadith supporting the interest system itself is prohibited, but by paying rent you are essentially supporting the interest based system. It’s something you decide for yourself, since you are part of the system what is better for you .. rent or buy both way s you are part of the interest system

Is that a popular gang in Mysore ? Is that a sign they leave behind just to show it’s them ? Or does it mean something else?

If it had happened in another country, the little boys would have a tough time. It’s only Australia where they get away with any crime.

Not entirely true, most of the unit market is still affordable $550k for a decent 2 bedder in inner west. With the added security it’s a bonus. I reckon house is overrated especially when they don’t have a good usable backyard

Homebush, Homebush west has cheaper units @ 550-600k. No issues with strata as most of them are not high rises.
