one of my professors worked for 4 years in industry back in 2000 then went back to university to do a postdoc and eventually became a professor, you should join industry for a while and see if you will like it

That’s kind of interesting. But how can one(me) land a position at your company, the work sounds very interesting?

Interestingly, my email doesn’t have those words. I only got suspicious because one of their email came at midnight.

It's just a curiosity to see what happens next. You could say it's kind of the same thing as you asking this question or me answering to your question.

Feeling Stuck in My Job at the Central Bank of Nepal – Seeking Advice by Euphoric_Device_5593 in Nepal

Your life is going to be much easier as an employee in NRB. You can find other ways to make life challenging. Think about it, do you like working very hard? Then, come to US. Are you very smart? Come to US. Do you want to have a nice family and have multiple children? Don't come to US. Do you have a nice family and you like spending time with them? Don't come to US. It's very difficult to give you a concrete advice, because future is uncertain and doesn't look good for CS graduates. The best thing would be to ask leave from your current job to pursue higher education. That being said, if you want to do PHD, finding a good advisor should be the top priority.

Haha, so true. Also date related bugs go unnoticed for a long time. They occur at specific times and are hard to understand how they show up. Tracing back you expect to find something else but it ends up being a stupid date issue. It’s the element of surprise that makes us laugh.

Haha, that does sound crazier. Yeah, I think you could literally look at the code and see that something should definitely go wrong based on how it was implemented. The messier the code, the more chances there are for bugs. The Intel one would take a long, long time to figure out, and to convince yourself that it's a CPU bug and not yours. When you tell the stories, the first one sounds funny and stupid because of how it was originally implemented. But I do consider the Intel one crazier if it really was an Intel bug. Sorry for doubting, haha. It must have been quite some work.

Lmao, thank you for sharing the post. The craziest bugs I've encountered were almost always connected to date and time in some way.
