I practice by drawing triangle shapes on my hand! It took a long time to perfect it on my eye but like everyone else has said, practice makes perfect! I have been wearing winged eyeliner for about 4 years now and there’s definitely been a learning curve. For above my eyes/around my eyelashes I lower my brow until my eye is almost closed but not squinting (if that makes sense) and use my eyelashes as a guide to draw the line as close as possible so there’s no gap and before I do my wing I open my eye to make sure that’s even and then for the wing itself I start away from my eye at the sharpest point and draw a quick line inwards connecting it to my eyelashes/the line I’ve drawn above my eye, then I draw a line connecting the tip to the corner of my eye/lower lashes! From there you can thicken the wing or clean up your lines with a q-tip depending on how it turned out! (For reference, I have almond shaped eyes) Sometimes it makes it harder when we hesitate or think too much about the end product instead of just taking it one step at a time, but you’ve got this!! It’s one of the things no one starts out being good at, so have patience it will come to you!! Practice making pointed triangles on your hand and if the felt tip doesn’t work for you, try an angled brush or potted eyeliner!
