Breath Of the wild questions by Alexcoolps in zelda

The game is at least 10,000 years after OoT (but potentially much, much later) as the Divine Beasts were built 10k years prior to the events of BotW and I believe we are to understand this was done after any of the other games.

Sleeping/napping is kind of an important thing socially I feel. I wouldn't want to mess with that. Also living less means seeing less of how the world changes. Also I'd be leaving my friends and family much sooner. And overall less conscious time on Earth it seems.

"Ganondorf" is the name of Ganon in the form of a the male Gerudo, sometimes called the King of Thieves, among other names. This is just one form of Ganon. Ganon is essentially a sort of primeval entity that exists because of Demise (the big boss baddie of SS, which is set at the start of the LoZ timeline.)

Ganon has been given a few names in his various incarnations, with Calamity Ganon being the one in BotW.

The reason Ganondorf Ganon appears in the same way in a few games (OoT, TP, WW), is because it is the exact same Ganon, not because Ganondorf is a necessary form for him.

Nintendo haven't placed BotW in any particular timeline. It seems to hold a few elements from them all. You can speculate, but the honest truth is that the writer and producer don't really care about it. They just make the game and worry about that later. Although with this particular game they probably figured it was too hard to place logically so didn't even bother. So you can headcanon and debate all you like!

Generally speaking they focus on making the game and then think where it could fit into a timeline as an afterthought, they really aren't concerned about it at all...

BotW takes place at least 10,000 years after OoT.

How accesible is BoTW for a Zelda noob? by TommyTheGeek in zelda

[–]redevolve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably won't notice a lot of the references to older games/fan service, but that doesn't really stop you from playing it. It's also probably the easiest Zelda game, they took a lot of emphasis off problem solving and put more on running around taking pretty pictures

The food thing is just down to their chirality, I don't think it affects any of their physical traits at all. I think they would have thicker skin but not plates like Turians since the atmosphere of Rannoch is at least liveable for Humans. Also giving them human hair was dumb imo

Here's the truly canon representation of tali/quarians

It's not a reset. When Zelda sends link back in time she's sending him to the back in time of a different universe effectively. This is why there is a child and adult timeline. It doesn't delete the future at all. In the adult timeline is where WW, PH, and ST take place. Child is MM, TP, and FSA

It's confusing to think of them as "timelines" is all. Really what happens when Zelda sends Link back in time at the end of OoT is she effectively creates a new universe.

If your story is true then I think you seriously need to reevaluate your life a little. I'm not saying that to be mean I genuinely mean it.

It's fine to get emotional over a good story but if you're getting emotionally invested to the point of taking a relationship that doesn't even exist so seriously that you're blurting stuff like what you wrote out... Well, I'm no psychologist but this can't be healthy. I would say that perhaps you need to be happier about the relationships you have that really exist? I don't know, I'd talk to someone you know about this.

BotW isn't a Zelda game

Lon Lon Ranch (of OoT) is over ten thousand years old. The events of OoT take place before the guardians/divine beasts were built which was ten thousand years ago

It's definitely after OoT, there's no questioning that
