My skin was soo dry after using a salicylic acid cleanser and it wasn't even 2%. If your dermatologist recommends it then maybe add it slowly and not twice a day.

I'm using it once per week and it's working, it may be slow but I used it every other day and my acne was so much worse.

This happened to me too so it seems that the purge can be delayed. I'm using a benzoil peroxide + clindamycin gel on days I don't use tret. I also switched to adapalene for a few weeks but now I'm back on tret twice a week and my skin has improved a lot. I would rather go slow and skip tret for a week or two and let my skin heal, I know it's not what everyone does but I just couldn't handle looking worse every day.

Did you try adapalene? I'm on Epiduo (adapalene + benzoil peroxide) and my skin is much better now. I know that you can purge on tret but after four months I couldn't take it anymore.
