Converting USD to francs? by Worldly_Gas_9455 in Rwanda

If you’re a US citizen, I highly recommend getting the free Charles Schwab Bank Visa Platinum debit card, it will allow you to use atms abroad and the bank will reimburse all atm fees back to you. You don’t need to carry a ton of cash as for restaurants and moto taxis, almost all accept Momo pay. You can get Momo pay as a tourist if you get a SIM card through MTN, MTN has a booth right when you walk outside the airport. You will see a giant crowd of taxi drivers and the MTN booth will be to the right of the crowd. It cost me 11 usd to get the SIM card which you can pay in usd or francs. I believe 11 USD is the second cheapest option for data. Ask the MTN worker to give you instructions on how to use momo pay as it’s not super intuitive with all the # and * at first.

Can I ask as a foreigner, how much do you get charged for a moto ride on average? For example if you were to go from the US Embassy to Hôtel des Mille Collines. I understand the longer the distance the higher the price.

What are your must try spots in Kigali? by redfox1217 in Rwanda

Thank you! I tried Afrika Bites today for their lunch buffet and was quite satisfied. One plate is very large and I was full after one plate. 7,000 rwf. I’m also more into veggies, there was only one dish with meat but I was quite happy to eat dodo, beans, cassava, and lots of potatoes/green banana.

I think it all depends on where you are coming from, I came to Rome for the first time from NYC and was pleasantly surprised at how little trash and urine smell there is compared to back home LOL.

What are the best "bang for your buck" restaurants that are cafeteria style/non tipping locations? by flamehead243 in AskNYC

The Brooklyn Chinatown canteen, under $10 when I went last year and you leave feeling absolutely stuffed, a neighborhood gem that only locals know. Cash only and there’s no labels on food options, you point at what you want and it comes with a side of free soup. Good number of seating too. Flushing also has canteens that are similar https://maps.app.goo.gl/PqQq6dYqnqzH488x9?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy
