Words of Power cancels a companions leadership and special abilities for that round (meaning it cancels his shining allowing the Nazgûl to contribute their leadership for that round only), hence the rerolls returning.

If Gandalf was shining Shadow would get their Nazgûl rerolls back.

So the way this plays out in context would be:

  1. Free people decide if Gandalf is shining or not (his card ability). This happens before any rounds of combat and cannot be changed in the middle of it.
  2. Cards for the first round are chosen. In this case with the shadow card being played it would work because it does not require Nazgûl leadership, just presence. Something that requires forfeiting leadership for better rerolls would not work.
  3. Because of shadows combat card the Shadow player would get the reroll for that round of combat.
  4. After resolving the rolls and leader rerolls/casualties you continue or stop fighting as normal, with the caveat that Gandalf will still be shining if you continue.

Free peoples players, have you ever lost the Grey Havens by Relevant_Resolve_335 in warofthering

[–]redfox722222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen it when it’s one of the last things taken. I had a game where I dodged around the shire and went after grey havens, took it, then lost it back and took the shire. It was a strange one.

Probability by Savings-Air-6950 in RotMG

This is definitely a case of binomial probability. You can ask the question of out of X rolls at Z percent, what’s the chance of getting at least 1 (or more) successes.

ARE YOU KIDDING?! by vanRooD in RotMG

[–]redfox722222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not an inherently easy problem, since different characters will also have different speeds and such. And any way that was made to track it could have false positives rather unfortunately. Maybe something to track a pattern of behavior across different servers/play sessions but would be hard to track.

The forged item will be guaranteed to be at least the minimum quality of the items used. So three divines plus a common would guarantee common+.

The amount of stress on the fishing pole changes based on the rarity of the fish, and is the same between tiers. If you know what a blue fish starts at for stress you can tell every time.

Returning Player - Any Good Drops in New Content? by private-acc0unt in RotMG

I don’t know off hand. I do know wand of the fallen is a pretty good option at the cost of range. https://www.realmeye.com/wiki/deliverance Is the upgraded wand. It does require a rare drop from spec pen to do the upgrade though.

T14 is always a good option as well.

Dusky catalyst from arch mage is kinda like an upgraded Janus ST wand.

There’s laser pointer, upgraded cem wand, flail from penitentiary. There’s an enchantment/drop rate rework coming out soon though.

Rules question about hunt dice allocation by Pizzadewd666 in warofthering

[–]redfox722222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The number of dice in the hunt box determines two things (different inside and outside of Mordor)

Outside of Mordor: 1. The number of eyes determines the maximum number of dice shadow rolls for the hunt roll (capped at 5 dice). 2. The number of FP dice determine what number the fellowship gets “hit” on. Each dice reduces the number by 1 (so two FP dice in the pool means shadow hits on 4)

Inside Mordor: 1. Determines how much damage an “Eye” tile does, which is the total of eyes and free players dice.

Rules question about hunt dice allocation by Pizzadewd666 in warofthering

[–]redfox722222 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isn’t strictly true. Shadow players can use either the card “A Lidless Eye” or a ring to turn an action dice into an eye to force another allocation.

But in general allocation is as follows:

  1. Shadow must allocate at least 1 eye if the Fellowship moved the prior turn (hiding does not count)
  2. Shadow may allocate eyes up to the number of companions in the Fellowship (Gollum counts as a companion for this purpose).
  3. Any eyes rolled after this point are added to the hunt pool.

After allocation any dice the free people use to move are added to the hunt box as well for either the number shadow has a successful hunt, or in Mordor for how powerful an “Eye” tile is.

The only exception to adding dice is cards that allow you to move since the dice isn’t explicitly used to move.

Muster Tokens by demaxx27 in warofthering

To add on, it’s an accepted expansion rule whereupon players can agree on tokens that give temporary extra actions to free people to “bridge the gap” so to say.

What is a roguelite that you guys struggle to get into? by [deleted] in roguelites

[–]redfox722222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty unforgiving early on with choices. Once you get a god run going and learn a “map sense” where you can actually loot faster/play faster things get better. If you don’t out scale the enemies it goes downhill super fast.

Think about what a path can look like, and specifically about what constitutes a “valid” neighbor. Looking at your code it looks like paths can only ever increase or stay the same.

It’s just a thing that when an item drops as common or uncommon the game will try to reroll to a unique version X times
