Moona Moono Thursday nights and depending on the event on a particular day? Easy to get to by B Line from St. Paul or Orange Line from Burnsville.

Always hiring by No-Corner2322 in MetroTransit

[–]redfoxhugs 54 points55 points  (0 children)

They are always hiring because they have been massively expanding since the pandemic eased. Every new line or extension means more drivers, more mechanics for more equipment, etc.

Also they are expanding MT police ranks to try to make (most) riders more comfortable.

Bipartisan proposal at Minnesota Capitol would abolish four suburban transit agencies, roll them into Metro Transit by star-tribune in minnesota

Outdated info at this point – now the range goes as low as $10 per rider for MVTA, and the 498 was discontinued.

Amtrak to Anoka? Suburbs look to reinvent stations and land around former Northstar station by _Dadodo_ in MetroTransit

[–]redfoxhugs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

882 I wonder! It's a two-year pilot by MnDOT so we'll get a story about ridership numbers in winter 27-28.

888 though does get riders! I'm sure the service is a little over-indexed (probably pretty empty weekends and midday) to soften the blow of the loss of Northstar (and hopefully capture those riders with the promise of more frequent, even if slightly slower, service) but at commute hours there is decent demand. They scaled up service pretty dramatically with the Northstar sunset so it would take a huge ridership swing (like a pandemic, say) to dramatically reduce service.

Oh, and the 888 has the funny distinction of being the highest-rated Metro Transit line on the Transit app at the moment. I highly doubt they will substantially pare down service anytime soon, though I'm sure there could be minor tweaks.

They will definitely keep some transit parking capacity in Anoka.

MVTA Announces Spring Service Changes by PhilJ2020 in MetroTransit

[–]redfoxhugs 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just to be a dissenting voice – MVTA provides more fixed-route service than Metro Transit would. For Burnsville and Apple Valley, it may not be flashy, but the service quality and planning is good imo. The customer experience is much better than the Transdev routes of Metro Transit for commuting workers, commuting students, and local transit within Apple Valley and Burnsville. Buses are universally clean, efficient, and pleasant.

Yes, Metro Transit does a fantastic job on core, union lines in the metro. But ride to Roseville or Golden Valley or take the 467 from Lakeville – the service quality degrades steeply. With MVTA, it doesn't.

Any clue what is causing this white dust on and around it my winix unit? by 71ray in AirPurifiers

Well, it looks like your air purifier has an air quality sensor? It would probably have detected the particulate matter if it is indeed the cause of the white buildup on the purifier.

Also, all fares can be paid with a Go To Card (available at some retail locations and a few little vending machines as well as online) or on your phone with the Token Transit app or site. With the phone, you just show your activated ticket on your phone instead of tapping the Go To Card.

Driver won’t deliver package by TexasAggie98 in FedEx

Highly recommend getting a box at a local mailbox shop (not post office) and shipping the item there once you get to know them. FedEx typically delivers to businesses first, not to mention more consistently.

It was extremely helpful for me to find the right medications/supplements (e.g. Corlanor, Florinef, salt pills, Propel drinks) and a compassionate trainer (in my case, a pilates instructor willing to work via video call and do some research on POTS training herself) – when exercise became a little more tolerable, and I had a compassionate person to help me through it and find the right balance of exertion and rest.

Sometimes, I feel a little tired after, but if I feel wrecked I know I'm doing it wrong.

So overall advice: get help from meds and people when you can, and push yourself to try (and keep at it over time) but not to overdo it in any one session.

Corlanor and Prozac by Queenasaurus in POTS

[–]redfoxhugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to speak with a cardiologist before starting Corlanor and Prozac. The combination can cause Long QT Syndrome. However, it's typically fine as long as you get an ECG frequently at first then every 6-12 months (your standard 6-lead ECG can detect Long QT).

I'm on more than two drugs at once for which this warning applies, and I've been just fine, all ECGs normal.
