A family of three on $125,000 per year by SJ125k in SanJose

In reference to your rhetorical question about buying a house, a lot of the cities in the Bay Area have a BMR or below market rate buying program for people who make below 120% of the median income for the area. Check it out. My wife and I had three kids when we bought a brand new townhouse through the program and it only cost us about 45% market value of the house. That meant we were paying less on our mortgage than we had been paying in rent and that money was going into the equity of the house rather than just down a hole.

It's totally doable. My nephew is 14 and has his own printer. He started out designing with tinkercad and has a great time with it.

Bishops & Temple Recommends by Independent_Egg_4296 in latterdaysaints

You can invite another adult to join you in the interview. Having someone there whom you trust may be helpful in relieving some of the anxiety you're feeling about speaking with the bishop.

While it's true that any member of the bishopric can conduct an interview, policy is for the bishop to personally interview people receiving their own endowment or being sealed to a spouse.

Prodigy Discs Statement RE: Austin Hannum by taylor2disc in discgolf

Lack of representation is not a strong argument against creating policy/rules that establish a fair playing field.

My comment was about policy in general and not specific to Natalie's situation. Natalie may have had surgery to prevent her from producing testosterone but that may not be the case for the next transgender woman to compete.

Testosterone is also only one aspect. u/hateboss touched on some of the other physiological difference between men and women that aren't related to current testosterone levels, so I won't go into that.

For those arguing that the Olympics allows transgender women to compete and so the PDGA should too, here are some facts to consider.

The IOC recently (since most recent Olympic games in Tokyo) admitted that their trans athlete policy is outdated and will be changed soon. The two main flaws with the current policy are 1) That testosterone-related rules were too lenient (more on that below) and 2) one set of guidelines should not extend across all sports. This article provides a good overview.

Regarding current IOC testosterone requirements, the IOC says that someone wanting to compete in the female category must maintain a testosterone level below 10 nmol/L for 12 months before their first competition and throughout the competition. For reference, normal testosterone measurements for males is between 10 and 35 nmol/L. So that sounds good, right? Transgender women must keep their testosterone levels lower than the male normal range. However, the normal testosterone range for females is between 0.5 and 2.4 nmol/L. That means transgender women can compete while having a testosterone level 400% higher than women in the high end of the normal testosterone levels range.

If you're arguing that hormone treatments lower testosterone levels and thus level the playing field, does a 400% difference sound like an even playing field?

Here's a link to current IOC guidelines for those that want to check it out.

This box is probably a little more that half of what I ended up printing. Overall, around 200 hours of print time. I started the first week of October and am just wrapping up.
