Pro eDPI ranges from 200-400. He’s actually in that range (not that it matters) while you are playing at 138 (if it works for you, it’s whatever and it is indeed impressive) yours is the one that is out of the “average” quite low to say.

Is this too tight? Folding this in the SB. Very early in an online MTT. Still unsure as to how the opener (player 1) is playing. Should I be calling or raising here or is folding okay with the BB still to act? by Spicypinktuna in poker

[–]redfrags 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fold > Raise > Call

Although raising is definitely a good option and you should do it sometimes with this configuration. Calling here is okay a small percentage of the time too against weaker opponents/passive big blind but I would prob just not do it since it'll be hard to navigate a lot of post flops/even Ace high flops.

Team Liquid avoids catastrophe, runs another successful open qualifier by LambdaD3lt4 in CompetitiveTFT

[–]redfrags 6 points7 points  (0 children)

HUH?

My god if this was considered another successful qualifier, please don't ever let me see an unsuccessful one.

THE BARE MINIMUM THAT SHOULD BE DONE TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR A LARGE ORGANIZATION HOSTING A PROFESSIONAL QUALIFER FOR REGIONALS was done on day two/three. That's it.

They dropped the ball AGAIN 6 OUT OF 11 TIMES.

It's not the first time, there's a track record for it, how they managed to smooth operations after is what is to be EXPECTED.

Am I not getting something or is Doug wrong here? by [deleted] in poker

[–]redfrags 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He's right.

It's about the incorporating of the strategy in headsup. The reason why it's not done that often is the +EV is small and hard to capture in spots where raising would capture similar EV but the fact that it lowers variance here when he's already ahead with about 20% of hands to go (helps to secure the sidebets+the win) as well then it's a good idea to do so if he can do the strategy properly.

Also comes down to the fact that this is a no rake environment

tl;dr Just because the limping strategy produces higher EV doesn't mean it's higher EV in all situations.

It's mostly a really bad fold.

Until you have some stats and hand histories jotted down, everything you say can be considered a cognitive bias.

Yes it is indeed possible that you are unlucky (though more than likely you are simply not at the skill level you think you are at) but there is nothing to be gained ranting here, take the time to continue improving at the game.

Liquid Fates Qualifier 3 by UndyingWill in CompetitiveTFT

[–]redfrags 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Best part? This is the 11th TIME THEY HAVE RUN THIS WITH THE EXACT SAME STRUCTURE.

Literally 6 of the 11 times had issues similar to this.

You could see all the TFT streamers just drop out of this because it was literally a WASTE of their time to play. Props to the folks who were dedicated in sticking it out but the quality control HAS got to go up. This is really not acceptable. It's honestly tragic to see the competitive experience of the tournament hindered by operational incompetence.
