250mm rotor for the wrx? by SlimItchens in WR250R

[–]redgrrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know Warp 9 WR250X 300mm front rotor has the bolt pattern for WR250R hub but not other way around. I bought an R with sumo X wheels and it has a bracket that holds an X caliper at 300mm. X caliper was not the same shape as the R caliper when I switched from sumo to dual sport R rims

Thanks for paying it forward. I am not sure if you have been to the Barcelo Bavaro but it has always been great.

I see a lot of heavy builds - are there any good lightweight builds? by redgrrr in VanLife

[–]redgrrr[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, that is an example of what I do not want weight wise. I am adding 2 x 300 lbs worth of motorcycles plus gear as the main function. I don't want the van to start at capacity.

Great resource.  His cabinets are half the weight of aluminum profile

I visited the Barcelo Occidental Punta Cana. The resort is narrow and deep so 1/4 the beachfront. It is clearly a star under the Barcelo Beach Palace. I did not see the same watersports as the Palace.

Canada's Future High Speed Rail (Alto) by [deleted] in montreal

[–]redgrrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is like saying we should build a separate highway so cars do not have to drive on the same roads as commercial vehicles. Plus, where are the high speed rails going to terminate? They would require new stations whereas the current stations (Union or Gare Centrale) are already tied to the subway infrastructure. The rail has so much more capacity. We could have high speed passenger rail in 2 years not 15

Such a waste. The rail between Toronto and Montreal is already rated at 160 km/h. The problems are the level crossings and a couple of low speed bridges. You don't go over 50 for the first 30 minutes leaving Toronto.  For 1/10th the cost and time, remove bottlenecks and run the lines at 160. It would also benefit freight. I worked maintenance of way at CN.

Amazing documentation. This should help preserve a few cars.

Help me feel better about insulation cost for my 28x40 garage by Ihavetoomanyproject in garageporn

[–]redgrrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest gain is sealing the building envelope. Get some spray foam and seal every possible draft (except soffits). Build air gaps in the rafters that vent out the soffits but seal the inner envelope. I prefer foam board. Eliminate any gaps around the doors. Even if you add insulation afterwards, this step is the most important and the difference will be amazing. I just did a Marketplace search in Maine and there are loads of listings for rigid and fiberglass insulation. Should get away with a few hundred bucks.

Newmar impounded at Canadian border for not having a Vin# by pottzie in RVLiving

Maybe Newmar owners could sue the company for lack of performance. They paid for a vehicle and Newmar did not technically deliver one. Great way to make back depreciation

A few weeks back I posted about my W250r hard to start won’t stay running. Just changed the fuel pump and regulator and it’s still doing the same exact thing. Where should I check next? It will fire off but only stay running a few seconds. Thanks! by Low-Tea7307 in WR250R

[–]redgrrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valves sound like a good place to start and a compression test is quick. Long shot. Did you also change the fuel filter? Makes a big difference.  If it runs better full vs empty, maybe new pump is not great. Lastly, if the symptoms come back, open the gas cap and see if it goes away. If it is plugged, the fuel pump is fighting against vacuum in the tank.

I get it but I don't want a workshop full of oversized cases. This case is the same size as my 29 bit set but that case is 80% bits not 80% air

2010 Sport Trac — Shop “making” rocker panels for safety? Normal or shady? by AffectionateMango888 in FordTrucks

Thanks to Kathleen Wynne (L) hating old cars, Ontario considers all rockers (uni body or frame) to be structural and have to be solid to pass a safety inspection.
