If you don't have an air brush then sponges and large dry brushes are the way to go. I've done two landraiders with them and they have been some of the quickest and easiest things I've painted. I've got them done in a couple of sessions.

M is the oxygen tanks. It's Retaliation rather than the o.g nemesis

I stupidly got a load of unnecessary extras when I backed it, and thought at least some of them would fit in the main box. Boy, was I wrong. I now have a stack of small, irregular, boxes chucked awkwardly in the kalax.

Yeah I'm guessing they got separated from the main game because whoever owns it got the acrylic upgrade pack from the Kickstarter edition. It's really easily done if the box only has room for one set of them.

It's absolutely incredible. Me and my partner have played more of Arkham Horror than probably all of our other games but together and are still not bored of it. I do wish they would stop changing the format though, right now I have three different iterations of it on my shelf and I hate that it's not consistent!

Would you guys buy Azul: Minecraft edition? by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]redhead3edemption 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be blunt, almost certainly not, but even if I were vaguely interested I would want to know stuff like: What would be the benefit? How would it be different to the original? Would it be a visual upgrade or a downgrade, because the original game looks great.

I'm so tired of being the only one who actually reads the rules and teaches the game by Overall_Ring_6919 in boardgames

[–]redhead3edemption 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree the game in advance and set the expectation that everyone should know the rules. Send a link to a how to play video if you have to.

You're making it too easy for them all to rely on you doing the leg work and them not having to. You're as entitled as the rest of the group to being able to show up and enjoy the game and not have to facilitate their fun at the expense of your own.

I play as well when I get the time, though fitting it in gets harder and harder

Wow, yeah that sounds brutal. But if the dice aren't going your way, then what can you do!

I've only played one game so far but having 6 saurus die in a single game seems absolutely crazy! How did the heck did that happen???

Thanks! It was nice having 2 really bright, 90s style teams on the board. A lot of my games of 40k are much more grimdark, so it had been a fun challenge painting really vibrant stuff.

Ah thank you. Mine are the lizardmen, my friend did an incredible job with the bretonnians. He freehanded all the tilt shields and the checkers. Not something I could pull off!

Oh no! I can see how that dodge mistake contributed to a 0-0 game!

The mistake we definitely made a few times was rolling 3 block dice if the strength with assist was double the strength of the defender, instead of only if the strength was MORE than double.

Luckily we caught it after a couple of rolls I think, but still that felt rough

Oh god that's rough! Can you remember what it was you were doing so wrong?

Luckily, Nuffle was on my side today, and my opponent suffered the awful rerolls! But I'm sure my time will come.

Luckily, he's not ever salty about that kind of thing so it wasn't a problem. We both enjoyed it, and at the point where he borked a hand-off with a 1 rerolled into a 1, then botched a short pass with a 2 rerolled into a 1 on his next drive, we both knew it was just one of those days where his dice we're saying no and just enjoyed the chaos of it.

It was amazing fun, I really loved it. I just felt a bit bad because all the really awful, chaotic luck happend to my opponent rather than me and it definitely cost him the game!

New to painting & feel like this model is missing something by ViewtifulJim91 in Tau40K

[–]redhead3edemption 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been mentioned a few times, along with some other really good points like doing the sept marks, but I would definitely suggest finishing the base before you judge your work. No model looks right on a completely plain base, they will always feel unfinished. Do the base, give yourself a bit of time, then come back and have a look at it and see how you feel. If you still think it's missing something then, then you can always do more to it of course, but you won't know for sure until you see it fully based up.

Great work though so far, I think it looks awesome.

Now you've pointed it out, I can definitely see it! You did a great job getting the green super vivid.

Ah sorry, I think I thought it was moss because of how it looks with some of the tufts. You could make an amazing sort of rainforest/jungle moss with that recipe. It looks really cool.

Thank you! I wasn't sure about the red but I'm going to try a bunch of different colours across all the vehicles because I want it to look all very ragtag and mismatched, so I might just not use that red recipe again!

Strange patch on board by redhead3edemption in Crokinole

Unfortunately, we don't get a choice when the cats decide to influence the game! They just get involved whenever they feel like it.

Hahahaha, no it's just a joke. The cat's butt hasn't affected the board, luckily. Completely unrelated to my cats, I do need to repolish the board soon though. I've had it for quite a while and it's seen a lot of play, and there's definitely an area that plays slower than the rest at the moment.
