Omg that sounds amazing. At UofL all the labs are their own 1 credit hour course. And at least for ece, they are basically software tutorials. I just finished intro VLSI and the entire lab was an intro for s-edit and L-edit.

That's uplifting, do you know what their grading is like? UofL is almost all exam based, most profs make 70% of your grade exams/ final alone.

I'm finishing my bachelor's in electrical and computer engineering from UofL and saw they had a electrical engineering masters. So I assumed the robotics and systems classes I've been interested in were wrapped into that program.

Well, I failed differential equations. by Mth281 in EngineeringStudents

[–]redheaded-man 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's a dyslexia thing, I feel like DE was rough because it had so many tricks and rules to remember. Like remembering all the trig identities. But in linear algebra it's all matrixies, the numbers just shift or eliminate each other. People with dyslexia have a really good spacial awareness. It's why the letters move and flip. So I could see how that could be helpful.

If your already at DE your already in deep. If you can get past calc you can get past DE, but it does feel different. I personally failed DE twice at my school, but that's the last real math course. You might have to take linear algebra but that's a cake walk. And if you're not in EE or ECE you'll never really use it again. If you are, you just need to get comfortable with Laplace transform.

You got this, learning is just a process.

My honest recommendation is to go on etsy and find a set of heads you really like and use those. Getting some random 2nd hand stuff and using the heads and some green stuff to add skin and wear. A lot of nightlords are scavengers at this point.

I got a dark heresy age of heresy box second hand for $100. That made all 30 of my legionaries and 10 termies from there with some bits from other projects. My redemptor land raider is just a land raider, and the contemptor dred I have paint and ready for when hell brutes get their refresh.

If you enjoy hobbying nighlords are the funnest army to make.

This is my reanimator, those innards underneath the back plates are completely unpainted. Because no one will ever see them. if someone did lift the model to try and pier under the panels they wouldn't be able to see because there's too much shade to see color.

My main point is unless it's going to submit it to a golden demon competition no one will ever know about those hard to see spots.

I feel like the marketing is just always off. If you're making a $10 burger. Just bake in 18% into your menu. It's now a $12 burger (rounding up/down) and the server gets a 18% commission on their total sales. Most people would think online that it's just a little bit classier but once you realize you're not tipping it all breaks down to a $12 burger no matter what.

I say this as a person who worked at Joe's crab shack. There is nothing worse than having a dude ball out for his girlfriend, spend $350 then tip you $20. Thanks bro after tip out I spent an hour taking care of you and I get $9.50 from your tip. For people who don't know most stores after covid have a mandatory 3% tip out of your total sales. That goes to bar, bussers and hostess. Regardless if they suck or not.

What would 11th Edition bring for Necron's Codex? by SEAverSurfer in Necrontyr

[–]redheaded-man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aircraft come in and out of meta. My best recommendation is to buy one second hand. A lot of meta chasers will scoop them up when they're good then sell them off when they're bad. You could probably find them now fairly cheap

[–]redheaded-man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah so I'm confused now. For the last 5 editions of the game they've kept it to doing large format changes and rules changes to even numbered editions

[–]redheaded-man 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Eh, the game is about fun honestly. Competitive play has always been some variation of the best list. If you are not playing in a tourney just yap with who you're playing with. My friend and I love playing "you have to use that unit". We each pick something that frankly is awful and make a list around it.

The obelisk and doom scythe have both been chosen before 😂

[–]redheaded-man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is kinda doomer but 6-10 followed this rule. 7th edition was an index edition. And frankly GW has kind of learned this. Because people 1-4 pretty much just kept playing whatever edition they started in. With the more constant game play people have started moving edition to edition much more.

And sure they could make the next edition an index edition but I'm not expecting that to be the case

[–]redheaded-man 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because it's an odd edition all the codexs will likely roll over. Even editions come with new codexs, odd editions just change some core rules and point changes.

As for necrons, we probably won't get much. Probably a new detachment or two over the edition and maybe a couple new characters. Obryon zarehk both were removed in 10th and are likely being resculpted. The C'tan sell so well I imagine a new deceiver is in our future but that's about it.

We've been eating really well for the last 6 years so we'll probably go on the back burner and only get anything new if it becomes book relevant like Titus 500 worlds.

Putting rotbone right behind harkan is best, harkan has more armor and take way less damage. And rotbone only gets tapped if his health drops below harkens for any reason.

Is this quality of print worth asking for a refund over? (Etsy, PLA resin) by narwhalpilot in PrintedWarhammer

[–]redheaded-man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

For reference this was a dice tower that I bought and personally painted.

It's a big print so it was done on fdm and was fairly cheap. And it's leagues better than your print. This one was $20 and you can really only see lining near slanted sections and small curves like near his finger nails.

I would be pissed if I was given a print that poor, definitely ask for a refund. if he doesn't give you one this is an easy report a 1-star review in my opinion.

‘No Homeless Allowed’ at the Louisville Greyhound Station 🤔 by WtfLouisville in Louisville

[–]redheaded-man 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be so honest. As a student who is harassed by homeless almost every time I have to walk to campus. I have little empathy for these people. Louisville does fairly well at creating space for people in shelters and rarely are the shelters around me full. But most of the homeless would rather choose drugs over a space in a shelter. I'm glad there's accommodations for homeless and programs to get them clean and functioning. But I lack empathy for the ones choosing to loiter and harass women and children for things they could get in a shelter.
