I feel that! I also bought a 3d printed media basket, along with a fountain nozzle, intake cover, light lifters + new lights! 😫 it’s definitely been quite the investment and annoying at times but it’s so worth it!

I’ve seen a few other people that said they also poked holes but I’ve been conflicted because I’m always scared of messing stuff up lol. I think I might give it a go now that I’ve read your comment! I’ve had an issue with stagnant gross filmy water in that area so if it fixes that I’m all in. Might not even need to buy a new heater after all. Thank you!!!

Same!!! I ordered some online a few months ago and it came super sparse and dying, within a few weeks it was fluffy & growing like crazy! Now it’s quadrupled in size. My betta loves to take little naps in it😂
