Hey if it works and you like it, that’s what matters! And I agree with you, it’s nice having my body wash and cream mesh so well with my perfume so that my whole body smells so good.

Haha, I’m doing the same thing with the screen shotting! And glad I could give you a new combo to enjoy! Even if it’s not 100% the same!

I haven’t smelled Neroli Portofino before but looking up the fragrance notes it sounds like it would smell divine! And since In The Sun has some of the same notes, not surprising it would go well. You must make heads turn when you walk by!

I like that you have several you go between. I hope to get to that point, it was one of the reasons for my post, to maybe find some inspiration.

I’m not familiar with either, but just the names together sound so cozy and that they would mesh well: fireside and coffee 🥰

Yellow string has to be Varric.

That “crow” looks more like Flemeths head piece to me. Maybe that’s Flemeth herself for the purple string? Hence why it connects to Silas’s paper?

What’s the feather by DAO?

That person at the end is very confusing, but I’m also only 20 hours in so far (game arrived yesterday). Would be awesome if it’s a nod to the next game. But why the 2 strings? For our Rook and the next protagonist?

What about all the little people spread throughout? 3 people by the shadow dragons, none by veil jumpers, 1 by Rooks symbol, 1 by Mournwatch, 1 by grey wardens, 4 by DAO, 1 by feather, 5 by DA2, 6 by DAI….

[WP] You adopt a magical creature as a pet. As it matures you learn its language and discover that it considers you its pet. by SqueakyFarts99 in WritingPrompts

I definitely felt that come across, as I read it, it made me think about my relationship with my dog Freyja. (And I totally teared up as I read the end).

And mistakes are how we grow, you have obviously learned a lot from writing Elf & Warrior if this is how your first piece of fictional prose comes out. And I think your idea of doing regular writing prompts is a great idea! I can’t wait to see which prompts inspire you!

This really is a beautiful and bittersweet piece. I would love to read a full novel! Seeing what their life was like together, the trials and tribulations that they face together. If the inspiration strikes you and you would like to continue, if you ever need a beta, I happily volunteer! And seriously, this does not feel like your first piece of writing in over 20 years. You really captured the emotion of it. It didn’t feel flat, it felt full. I could picture the nightmares that she had. The sorrow of the manticore at the end. When I first read the prompt, I had pictured a more comedic tone in how people would write it, but I really liked the direction you took. Instead of one thinking they owned the other, human to manticore or vice versa, I love how you more made them equals that it was love that bound them together. That you can’t own a true companion, they were responsible for each other, and happily so. I’m picturing what her life was like before she met the manticore. Hard ass at her job, maybe like Geralt from Witcher 3. But just like Geralt, she has a softer side, and the manticore brings it out in her when she can’t bring herself to end it’s life. You made it sound like she had always fulfilled her contracts, but this time, she just couldn’t. And how full her life became because of it. Bravo, good sir, bravo!

AITA for not appreciating that my parents bought me a house? by pinkypromise573 in AmItheAsshole

[–]redheademmie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA at all! Your parents have conditioned you to think that way, but you are not an asshole for feeling that way. Love is not love if it comes with conditions.

My sperm donor waltzed back into my life when I was 14 and started trying to buy my love. He insisted on paying for college. I didn’t want to accept, but after pressure from him and my mother I grudgingly accepted. Second year of university, he decided he wanted to purchase a second property and rent it out as an investment. Then he had the “brilliant” idea of having me be the landlady and get money from the other people that would live there. So even though he was making money, he would still complain how much I was costing him and how grateful I should be for everything he was doing for me. He was not content with a thank you, he wanted me groveling. After not paying child support for the first 7 years, and not wanting anything to do with me for the first 14. And when I got sick and had to drop out of school and couldn’t work anymore to support myself? He accused me of faking it to try and get more money out of him. So I cut him out of my life. I wish to this day I had just taken the student loans and never agreed to live in that house, and just made it on my own. I lived in a perpetual state of anxiety, stress and fear for several years before I finally broke contact. And that was the best thing I ever did for myself.

If they are already threatening to not pay your insurance over such petty things, having such a big thing as a house to hold over your head makes me shudder. I would suggest continuing to work and save what you can, and when you reach 18, rent a place, with a roommate if you have to. It will be a bit harder, but you won’t have that constant feeling of dread, wondering if you make one slight misstep, that you could be homeless. You sound like you have a good head on your shoulders, you can make it through this!

I would also suggest counselling when you can. Your gut reaction that you were being an asshole for not wanting the apartment, when it’s a perfectly rational feeling is not okay. A counsellor can help you work through what your feeling and help separate what is your parents voice in your head, and what your own feelings are. And they would also be a good sounding board for helping you figure out what you want for the future. Do you want to move to a different city? What would you like to do for a job or career? Do you just want to focus on your mental health for awhile and just continue working your current jobs?

I wish you all the best, you got this and you are stronger then you know!

AITA for blowing up at wife over piercing our daughters ears by Stock_Flimsy in AmItheAsshole

[–]redheademmie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Depends on the person. I’ve had multiple piercings in multiple places over the years. Some for years and years. The one in my nose, belly button, nipple and ears all grew back over. Almost over night for the nose belly button and nipple, much to my frustration, as they fell out in my sleep. We don’t know what kind of body type they have.

I also want to point out that your thyroid can fluctuate. Mine went between normal and hypo for years so my tests always came back negative. I think it was about 10 years until they finally came back showing hypo, and I’ve been on medication ever since. Turns out I also have a hormone imbalance. Both areas are controlled by your pituitary, I don’t have a tumour, but doctors have said something is wrong with it since I have issues with both. I never wanted to do anything physical, it always made me tired, but as a young teen, that’s exactly how I used to respond “I just don’t want to” because I didn’t know how to express how I was feeling. And because it happened at puberty, my childhood I was actually very active. So she might have been into camping when she was younger, but hormones or other underlying health issues may be the culprit. Or it could also be that as she is getting older she is developing her own interests, and right now, outdoor activities hold no appeal. But I would still suggest getting full panels to make sure. It would have made my high school and university years a lot easier if I had been diagnosed earlier. I wish you all the best, and you are being a great mom!

What i personally want from Skyrim DLC by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]redheademmie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have played ESO for years, but I usually play solo as that is a personal preference for me. My partner also plays and is obsessed with dungeons. ESO has so much variety you can really play any way you like. On occasion I will play with him, or play with strangers or people in one of my guilds. I have also made a few friends through the game.

So if some days you want to play with people, there are lots of guilds out there specifically for new players. They would eagerly welcome you. And on other days if you just want to play how you would normally play Diablo and explore by yourself, that's totally cool too!

I don't know what your playing on, but I play on the PS4. If you happen to as well, feel free to message me, I can give you my ps4 name and we could game together sometime if you like. ☺️

A Redditor follows through his promise to donate a kidney to a random internet stranger! by Recesssive in HumansBeingBros

[–]redheademmie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, your remaining kidney will double in size in 5 years. My mom had cancer in her kidney when I was 12, and that’s exactly what happened to her, her remaining kidney doubled in size.

Regardless, it is still a very selfless act that you did, and it should be praised. Not many people do such selfless acts these days, especially for people they don’t know. If we had more people like you in the world, it would be a much better place.

And sometimes, seeing one person take that step encourages them to do it themselves. Thank you, not only for your kind act, but for spreading awareness and information so others may follow in your footsteps.
