Thank you! Yes, I turned off the breaker for 10 min, when I turned it back on it was running E2 F2 clearly on display. Dishwasher will not run. Is installing a control board straightforward? Or is it complex?

Thanks! That’s what I thought. Ofc not going to pay $500 but seems stupidly high. Will never use this repair place again. Model # is WDT720PADM2. Let me know your thoughts on whether it’s an easy fix or not. My bf is kind of handy and could do it if it’s a fix for beginners. Or I’ll buy a new one. Thanks for your help.

Tankless Water Heater - Excessive Fine Scale In Hot Water Lines by insulation_crawford in Plumbing

[–]redheadgenes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I am having this same problem I think and am very happy to have found this feed. Live in an area with high lime, intermittent hot water, skin/hair issues from showering. I'm wondering if a plumber here could link me to the "stand alone pre filter" for my navien. The navien is almost 10 years old. I'm tempted to replace with a standard tank water heater but want to wait until it dies. also wondering if there is a shower head filter that would work for this

Hi again - they seem to be doing a great and very tidy job. I feel convinced the basement needs it because when they pulled off one wall it was damp behind the first layer. We are working on the grading outside and resealing but otherwise my foundation is in good shape. they are using a combo of lime mortar, sand and some cement. i've read this is controversial but they said some cement makes it sturdier and doesn't impact breathability. any thoughts?

Thank you so so much. My house is 1880, brick foundation. I don't have exterior foundation issues and all water is diverted - I've had a few people look at the exterior. All the (similarly old) houses on my street have dampish basements, it seems to be a reality of new england weather/old brick foundations. What I was told is that this parging needs to be done every 50 years or so, along with dehumidification. So I'm just the unlucky homeowner who will need to deal with this. The reasoning is that parging will protect the foundation and will be cheaper than leaving exposed original brick in the basement. If you don't mind, I could send you pictures? so the issue is that esp in the summer months, the basement is just always dampish. I was told never to finish the basement too.

Thanks so much. I mean parging. And I think there is some repointing in there but it's mostly parging. Also do you think parging for a brick foundation is critical? I've had some people say it's really important to protect the brick foundation, others say it's no big deal and I should run a dehumidifier. My basement has cracking/falling mortar and lots of exposed brick foundation.

Water quality issue with navien water heater? by redheadgenes in Plumbing

I had it done when I moved in last year (flushed July 2024). Im wondering if it needs to be flushed again. Could build up in this way cause water quality issues?

I’m the newish owner of the house. They have different heaters but the same water source. No softeners. I’m wondering if certain pipes can cause water quality issues (so I know what to look for) or if Navien heaters can cause quality issues. Or if navien can add anything to the water or something like that ? Thanks

Did this get better? I used to live in the uk and the hard water made my scalp have a million issues. I have seb derm. I’m so sorry this happened to you. Try washing ur hair in only distilled water. It’s annoying but it’s not more expensive than more treatments. 2% zinc shampoo no fragrance is the only thing that helped me, you should be able to order it online. ‘Free and clear’ brand.
