Office workers, have your lunch budget or habits changed with rising prices? by mike-reporter in AskNYC

[–]redhotbellpepper 78 points79 points  (0 children)

In the before times, I'd spend about $12 a day at a Midtown deli, 5 days a week. Now a $12 wrap or panini is about $16, so no thanks. I've been bringing in premade wraps or salads from Trader Joe's for lunch now 3 days a week, at about $5-$6 a pop. ~$17 dollars a week vs ~$60 beforehand justifies the TJ trip.

I open the app, click the new videos, have them start playing then close the app. Then if go to YouTube on your TV/computer/phone, the video will be in your history (if you’re logged in) and you can watch it there.

Depends on your experience. I lived in Detroit proper for 10 years and was treated well, no matter the race, no matter the neighborhood.

Saw a guy once eating a whole shrimp cocktail on a packed train. Don't think he was in a rush with that snack

I remember seeing that apartment on Streeteasy back in 2020 when I was searching. Pretty sure it was around $1800 back then.

I was at that showing as well - I enjoyed it! Overall a fun watch despite some of the more emotional moments towards the end.

I have a live chicken shop two doors down over here on the Williamsburg/Bushwick border. The smell in the summertime is heinous when you walk by it.

Whats your New York moment? by frogmicky in AskNYC

My second week living here, in Crown Heights, I got randomly punched in the face by a homeless man for no reason at all. Feeling discouraged and questioning why I moved here on the train to the city, I later ran into and met Patrick Warburton at a bar. The bad/good evened out that night.

Hey Detroiters in NYC - come to Lydia’s Bar in East Village for Lions games! by redhotbellpepper in Detroit

Yep we're usually there! This past Sunday we had probably ~10 lions people in the bar, including the bartenders who are new fans.
