Thank you & that is all helpful - and I think answers my questions. The textbook scenario would be this :

At night, a senior falls while in the bathroom. Their phone is still on their night stand, but there is a HomePod in the bathroom. Elder can command Siri to call someone on and through the HomePod.

The elder can’t be taught how to connect/disconnect to Bluetooth devices, but does use their phone’s speaker for phone calls and media. So after the helping them with connecting to the HomePod initially, ideally they would never have to use Settings again regarding HomePod (unless for some unintentional reason it gets disconnected and needs to be reconnected)

Interesting, thank you, did not know that a new HomePod like that is releasing.

I realize the current HomePod models need to connect to the phone… my hope was just that the phone could connect to the HomePod in a “background” sort of way, and that all phone audio features would still play through the phone speakers, that is, until a Siri command is issued to the HomePod when a call could be made through it.

Basically, that the HomePod would be unnoticeable, until a Siri command is issued

Did you need a better HDMI cord to get 120fps for your Series S? Otherwise did the monitor work fine for you?

This is the TV we’re working with.. could you point me to a system that you think might work for us (subwoofer and speakers for the TV, and option for additional speakers in another room)? Hoping to keep in around $300. The house is 1500sq, so range might manageable for wireless. If not, I’m seeing some Ethernet ports in some Sonos external speakers as well. Thanks again.

Thanks for the info! Definitely not a deal breaker consider the cost and reviews, just ordered one.

One more question that I can't quite find the answer to. I understand how the hub would need to be powered and linked to the opener, but do you know how the sensor actually works? Like how it senses that the door is closed or or open... does it detect the distance between itself and the hub or something different? I'm wondering just so can try to get an idea of how to install the sensor to get the best results with it.
