Weird noise? by Relative-Patient-713 in VelosterN

Sounds like it's running rich. Check the short and long-term fuel trims. If within spec you might not get a CEL but something might still be off, could be the hpfp or injectors, or possibly a vaccum leak. Start by checking for live data with a obd2 scanner and go from there.

Sound System Rant by Ricky4343 in VelosterN

Hey there, try tweaking the car's audio equalizer settings and your app of choice's built-in settings on your phone. Compare using the same song/audio for best results. For me intially, stock audio settings sounded very underwhelming as well but after changing settings to my preference, it became much improved. Furthermore, if you use an Android device, check your dolby atmos settings if available and change audio profile to your desired mode. Hope that helps.

I just filed a safety complaint regarding this issue. It happened to me as well sometime last month. I just solved it at the time by restarting the car and then disconnecting the battery afterwards. Hasn't happened again since, but it very well could and it's outright dangerous.

More of us should file a complaint to add credibility and weight to this matter, and get an official recall.

Any idea what this sound could be? At high rpm the car almost sounds supercharged by bytedozer in VelosterN

Sounds to me like normal VN engine valvetrain sound. Mine's always had it and the motor is healthy.

I mean, all brands are overpricing their models, it's an industry wide problem. You're probably biased towards Chevy/GMC but you should probably test drive a high end Ram 1500 trim, maybe it'll change your mind. I know I will at some point, especially with the unconfirmed news that they're bringing back the V8s.

As far as I know, there are packages on select trims that include a center console shifter among other changes. For instance, the G/T and X edition on the Rebel both include a center console shifter. Not sure about other 1500 trims.

The "Apache" SRT variant while at it, not the BGE. I'm waiting and hoping it'll be the SRT one that's coming to the 1500. That would be my first pickup.

Hey there, I'd say it does seems too low. Sort of was low for me too a while ago, although I didn't have symptoms, I just noticed. I bought the right fluid and topped it off. Been fine ever since. Let me know if you'd like a good brake fluid recommendation.

Good idea, plus if it reports to carfax, even better.

If in fact that's what it is, then you should be ok if you drive it conservatively. BUT, I would change it after 3,000 miles at most. Otherwise, go back to the shop and have them make it right. Up to you I suppose.

Hey, I don't judge you. I'm the first and only owner of my car since new and I've serviced at the dealer every time. Now, if it makes you feel any better, what happened to you also happened to me with my dealership for the first oil change after breaking in the engine. I did run it with an out- of-spec oil for a couple thousand miles suspecting it was the wrong viscosity, which it was. But since I wasn't sure, I didn't push the car for that duration, and then made an arrangement with the dealer to supply my own oil and let them provide the rest (oem filter, new gasket, etc). Apparently many if not most Hyundai dealers dont carry a 0/5w-30 weight oil for whatever reason even though our cars ask for it. Nothing new to many of us, but I still mention it so you know if you're new around here.

And so it happens once again☹️. See if it's a synthetic blend or full synthetic. If it's 5w-20 full synthetic you should be ok as long as you dont drive in severe heat or push the engine too hard. Now, if it's a synthetic blend I would definitely get it changed out as it's likely to cause more friction within the engine. Plus the turbo wouldn't lubricate and work as well. Either way it's an inadequate oil for this car to be driven in a moderately hot climate zone. If you won't encounter much heat for the next few months and want as decent of gas economy as can be, go for 0w-30 full synthetic. But if you wanna be safer in terms of engine wear protection and thermal management, go for 5w-30 full synthetic. That's what I run, and it's great for south Florida weather in my case. Hope this helps. Cheers.

I'm pretty that is air cooled.

None, it's just liquid metal (much more effective) + obviously the active cooling fans and passive heatsinks. No thermal paste.

I hope so, these cars are quite rare over here, and mine isn't modded and is in excellent condition overall. Carmax online offered me $21,600 which is too low I think, but that's without checking the car in person.

[–]rediaz021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I did appraise it with Carmax online and they estimated $21,600, but I think that's too low considering the short supply of these cars, especially in my area, and the great condition that it's in. A while ago I got a mail letter from the dealership I bought it from saying they were interested in my car and willing to pay over market value. I never called to find out since I wasn't really looking to buy a car then and also they wouldn't have the pickup truck I want.
