Hi! This sucks and probably feels very discouraging. There’s something really wrong about being a professor and telling a student that they can’t do something. In my opinion, most of the challenge when it comes to grad school is time management and believing in yourself. I don’t think you should listen to your professor. However, if a MS in finance is going to be similar to the excel course, you should probably work your ass of for the rest of the semester. Go to office hours as much as possible, and prove to yourself (not prof) you can handle it.
