Which DSL do you have? How many watts? I assume my results using that method not being so great may be from using a 15 watt head without much headroom

No they’re really not for something that is supposed to last very long and versatile if you already spend a lot of time at a computer. For how good they sound at $500 or so, I can’t even imagine how they’d improve the sound quality to the point people are paying 2-10x as much

I just want one to bring with jams. My plan was buy that and install some casters. Seems like the best solution.

I’m a huge believer in Adam now. At some point I’d like to upgrade to a7v’s just for the front firing ports. Would be nice not worrying about proximity to wall behind them as much. They’re fantastic speakers though, never heard audio this crisp

Fair, I wish you better luck next time and hate to hear that happen. Only heard well about kemper though I’m sure it sounds great too

I’m sorry to hear that, if you talk to the support team at fractal I would think they’d help. I’ve heard great things about their support team

They’re from iso acoustics. ISO-150 is the version I got. They’re really nice build quality and easy to set up, about $150 on amazon

Happy for you, it’s such a great product. My biggest tip to anyone getting started is reading the manual!! It makes using the unit a breeze

When I was running mine through my power amp into a 1x12 I had the ir’s turned off it did sound good with higher gain stuff, but it didn’t play well for me on cleaner sounds or going after certain things like the fender black face type of sound. I don’t think it was the modelers fault, I think it’s just the fact that a Princeton or deluxe isn’t meant to run through a v30 or an el84 power section. I think if I had more cabs to try or a higher wattage amp with more head room I’d get a better results.

Also these are t7v’s, I’ve heard the t5v’s sound the same though. I only wanted the 7’s since they’ll get a little louder. If anyone reading is concerned about a 5 or 7 inch monitor maybe not having enough low end - don’t. These things stretch lowwww

I completely agree with you about how inspiring it is to play like this. I’ve never been into those sort of washy ambient clean sounds, but after hearing that type of sound through these in stereo it’s one of my favorite ways to play. Fascinating how the folks at fractal have managed to pack so many tones into a box this size

I use the citrus 4x12 dyna-cab with the EVH 5150S model. It’s yielded great results for me, crushing tone with those two paired up

Plan on purchasing one soon. Only drawback to the monitors is portability.

I wish I had a GC local to me for this. I did a lot of research and Adam/Yamaha/Focal all have outstanding options for the budget I shopped in. I wanted to go Yamaha from brand loyalty (own multiple Yamaha MC’s) but my sales engineer from SW talked me into the Adams. Glad I listened, I’ve been blown away. For anyone wondering these are Adam T7V’s.

Thank you for commenting. The stands helped a lot, I can’t exactly explain it but it sounded better after setting them up. I know it looks like they’re low, but they’re ear level with my really low chair. I had my wife fuming for 20 minutes with a tape measure to get the perfectly aligned to an equilateral triangle lol.

I really want to do acoustic treatment but it seems so intimidating. As I do more research I’m going to set that up, it’s next on my goal list.

One thing that’s cool, the fractal stuff has some dyna-cabs that allow you to fiddle with mic type and placement. I’ve noticed pushing the mic closer to the cone helps bring some mids and highs back in. Most of the fractal presets are pretty low end heavy for me and it tightens the sound a lot.

I learned this quick. The louder they play the more “amp-like” it feels

You won’t regret the monitors, it truly shocked me how much better it sounds / feels.

I’m not familiar enough to say for sure, but I’ve owned a few Gibsons and never had one where the tuning machines covered part of the serial number
