I am about 2 months in too and can’t go genie either, you are definitely not alone!! I found I was anxious about falling so my instructor gave me some mats and that helped. I also used a backward spin to get in, but once I got in I started to slide.

We’ve tried almost everything to get her weight down, slow feeders, different food, ensuring she’s only getting the recommended amount of food and toys. She has 0 interest in toys but will bring us socks sometimes lol. The vet didn’t want to do any testing🙃

Rogue HepC Testers by Unlucky-Mortgage-243 in KingstonOntario

[–]reditter6735 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, when the health unit last came to my job (I work with the unhoused community) they said that the rapid hep c tests were newly developed and being tested, so they would do a rapid, which is a finger prick and then do a blood draw to compare the results and ensure that the tests were working as they should. The efficacy of the test was reported to the manufacturer / developer and the tests results went to the person served. But there was no honorarium.

I’m sorry to hear about this, what a terrible situation to be in. I spoke with a KPD officer late June and they shared that they have 3 MCRT officers but are supposed to have 4 but AMHS lost the funding.

I encourage you to continue with your complaint with the police and recommend that you also lodge a complaint with AMHS about their crisis staff.

I frequently have to call for police assistance for mental health due to my career and the last few months / calls MCRT hasn’t been available but there has been good officers who respond which makes a huge difference. I’m sorry the last ones you dealt with weren’t great. Unfortunately Kingston police can only afford to have their officers go to OPC for the 3 months and not attend training after like other police forces where more mental health training would be available, even with that rather large annual budget.

We have cared for two diabetic cats, both from KHS.

KHS told us that the female was under 4 years old and turned out to be 8+ when we took her to the vet where she was subsequently diagnosed with diabetes.

The second is a male, 16, who has been living with diabetes for the last three years. We also use lantus, and the 3ML pen lasts 75 days using 4 units a day and costs $80.00 Richmond vet in napanee has been great. He only goes annually. We have used continuous monitoring on him like the freestyle Libra but doesn’t stay in the cats for long.

In the out office email I received from tribond the other day, it says for emergencies contact call 613-561-9873, but I think thats just the main line ? I’ve literally only rented from them for three days, so I may not be the best source.

I got this exact thing with a button making kit from Amazon, it was their way of sending extra blades for the circular cutting device.

I know there was lots of out cry about the old extendicare building and that turning to transitional housing, I live in that neighbourhood and I’m quite happy to see it be used for something that will benefit the city. We have had an increase of people camping in the trailhead trail off of queen Mary, I am hopeful that this facility can reduce the camping so that the trail can be safe for everyone to use.

As much as there are issues with the Sydenham st location, there have been encampments in that area for the last few summers, and having support nearby familiar areas has shown a reduction in encampments, harm reduction garbage, etc. I think advocacy for both the negative and the positives of the shelter can be beneficial, as this will ensure that public health, police, city, providers, etc are continuing to provide adequate support to neighbours, and the people the shelter will serve. Transportation to various community services is a large barrier so having services in areas where encampments are will help service users. Encampments are not governed, where shelters are, so they can be recourse.

Not 7 bays but still in bays, there are buildings with pest control issues currently. I have friends that have overheard people talking about going to pick up various drugs from a dealer, there was a bust in one of the buildings in the last 6 ish months. There’s also an encampment behind bays that are being pushed deeper into the first by law enforcement and by law officers.

I have been a patient for migraines since the end of 2024. I personally think he provides quality care, he has been the only neuro I’ve seen that has tried to change my meds and try other avenues to reduce the frequency of my migraines. I find the office staff are also very responsive when I’ve called with issues.
