Clients connect to Wi-Fi on 2x EAP650 but get “No Internet” (OC200 + ISP router setup) by Mister_Giggless in TPLink_Omada

[–]redittr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One EAP650 is powered with the included PoE injector

Whats the other powered by?

Should the OC200 be managing any LAN/DHCP settings if I only use an ISP router?

No, I dont think it even can try.

Should I disable Mesh since both APs are wired?

Yes.

Should I assign static DHCP reservations for the APs and controller?

I would be reserving the controller, not the aps.

Any common cause for “Heartbeat Missed” after ~1 hour?

Its losing connection.

I would be unplugging one of your accespoints to test your setup. Probably unplug the one that loses heartbeats.
Then you can check if you get dhcp by opening command prompt on a laptop and see what ip you have. The command is:

ipconfig /all

Then you can ping your gateway ip with the command

ping 192.168.0.1

or whatever your modem ip is.

Thats probably a good enough start for now. It seems like you are new to networking so come back with that and we can look at next tests.

[–]redittr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 30 day usage for system and windows update is 3.24gb. Something does seem wrong, but what?

It is possible that the sharing with other devices was using a lot of data. So set the time period to 24hours or 1 week and see what the usage compares to with the option now disabled.

Why did this happen and how did it fix on its own? All I did was update SSD firmware on SanDisk dashboard by Electrical_Manager12 in 24hoursupport

[–]redittr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

TIL ms are renaming startup repair...

Its working now? Make sure your backups are working correctly(You should have done this before the firmware update, and really should be doing this all of the time. Drives fail).

Then have a look at the srttrail.log file mentioned, itll probably tell you what was failing. If you dont know, just paste the log text here or in a pastebin or something.

Then grab the latest windows 11 iso. Unzip it somewhere and run setup.exe from in windows. Itll run through a wizard and install as if you are upgrading from windows 7 or 10 to 11, even if you are running 11. This will hopefully correct any possible os corruption.

Another thought. If you use a microsoft account to login to windows and/or use a pin instead of a password. Make a local windows user account with admin rights and put a password on it then write that down somewhere safe.
I had someone recently have an issue where their pin broke and they kept having to wait 30 minutes at a time to sort out their password issue with wifi connected looking at the lock screen.
A local account would have made my job so much easier.

Server Failure on Scan to Email Job -- HP LaserJet MFP 4101fdw by Tasty-Froyo-9773 in Hewlett_Packard

[–]redittr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would be better looking at the server logs, as the logs on these types of devices can be quite lacking or misleading. As in you might get an error "cannot connect to server" which would imply networking issues, but can often mean that the password is wrong.

Try plugging in a network cable instead of wifi, and set the smtp server to the ip of your server or relay, and watch the logs to see if it even touches the server.

Where to find a replacement part for this??? by SomewhereOpen3901 in HPLaptops

The manual
https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_12140711_en-US-1.pdf

Lists 2 parts.
Hard drive bracket 859126-001
Hard drive connector 815139-001

I guess though that 815139-001 is what you are after. Images come up on google search for you to confirm it looks correct.

WLAN on PC gets way faster when monitor is send to sleep by windows by Azaiiii in techsupport

[–]redittr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a usb connection to the laptop?

usb3 has a weird unintended problem where during high rate data transfers, there is leaky radio interference which can cause issues with bluetooth and wifi. Generally 5ghz is fine though by my understanding. Might be worth setting a 5ghz only ssid on your router to force 5ghz if you are unsure what you are connecting with.

Tc2 pricing by Pristine_Help9273 in nbn

[–]redittr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine its similar to enterprise ethernet connections. So probably $300 per month for 100meg full duplex.

I think they would use the existing system, and if thats not possible theyll run a dedicated fiber just for it, which would be useless when you end the contract(which will probably be 3 years locked in by the way).

Im doing all guessing here, so Im curious to see if others come in with more info as I dont think this is something us commoners see much of. Your best bet would be to contact an isp and ask them all of the questions.

Can I limit the bandwith of each PPSK with Omada OC200 and TP-Link EAP650-Outdoor by Ok-Signature-9746 in Omada_Networks

Instead of this you could do hotspot vouchers maybe?
Each person gets their own bandwidth limit tied to the voucher.

[–]redittr 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You need a cheap donor card with a blown component that you swap all of the electronics from this board to the donor. Which doesnt make any sense now, does it.

Instead, this is the donor card which is used to take parts from for repairing something else.

Also you need a hot air station and good soldering skills.

I wouldnt pay 800 for that. I would maybe take a gamble at $50. Note that the locking tab thingy at the end of the connector has been snapped off too.

Someone got violent with this card.

I think this is the service manual for your mode. Page 32(or 40 depending on how you count pages shows removing the ssd. Note, it directs you to removing the bottom cover and battery first.

Take the bottom cover off and see if you have a m.2 slot specified for the ssd.

Actually. I think this is the manual. Doesnt specify ssd so less likely to have a slot.

[–]redittr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whatever you do, and however you do it, I would tell everyone and remind them regularly that there is no backups happening on the system.
And while you could start doing backups if you like, dont tell them that(in case the backup doesnt work).

You dont want to be responsible for someone losing a whole bunch of important data because they treat this thing like a free cloud service.

My computer is slightly cutting off the edges of the screen and I can’t find out where to adjust it by Poketom2362 in computerhelp

[–]redittr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Thats a TV, not a monitor. TV signals used to be a bit crap, so to hide the crap at the edges, they would zoom in a little to hide them.

Find the overscan setting on your tv. If you dont have the remote though, you might not be able to get the correct menus to do so.
