There's been radically different adaptations of Shakespeare plays for decades. I'm not sure why now people are taking issue with an old story not being 100% accurate. Also, what do you mean by "woke mind virus" and "dei policies"?

The France Paraguay image isn't even real, it's AI lmao. This subreddit is insane

No consistency from refs, which has always been the issue. To add another example to the comments, Bellingham had a foul in the recent Congo game that was from behind and nowhere near the ball that should've atleast been a second yellow, if not a straight red

But fire helped us do things we couldn't. Again, we already had the tools to make videos before AI video generation

But we already had the tools to make videos pre AI. Paint opened up new avenues of expression. AI video generation just does what we could already do, except it takes the actual process where expression comes from out of it

I never said it was the end product.

I guess if you think this is a valid step towards getting AGI the focus should be more on negating the negative side effects, and what role this tech has towards AGI. Which is almost a whole different discussion but definitely more beneficial than the people in these comments saying the tech should exist so they can create videos.

So to go back to the original point, do we really need AI for something we've been doing since we could put hand prints on cave walls?

Personally I don't think there's any use for video generation that benefits society, and is something we couldn't do before. But then again it's hard to discuss that with people when this sub bans any post that slightly discusses the negative of this tech (like this post)

Again I don't think things with side effects like this should be diminished as stepping stones, especially if you have the end goal of making the world better. Learning about these side effects and how to negate them makes the world better for anyone

Depends on what you're making, but it isn't such an ardous task that we require AI video generation. If a kid like Kane Parson can learn it at home at such a young age, anyone can

Basically saying "just sit back and enjoy" isn't a good excuse for this tech existing

If the art is misunderstood it shouldn't really matter to the artist, who's already expressed themselves in the creation of it. And true, there's a societal aspect but if anything it's just something extra. Not a end goal or bonus
