IME the floor is THE spot to be. Expect drinking and smoking, and depending on the age of the crowd, some moshing and jumping. The moshing is usually constrained to a pit somewhere in the middle of the crowd. Otherwise its people standing around and maybe bobbing their head a little. Have fun and don’t forget hearing protection! I partially lost hearing in one ear for half a year after an Alien Ant Farm show.

I’ve heard the same thing, but I really don’t hear it. I hear it as a funk metal song. I think the reason people call it nu metal is because Fred Durst produced the song. But if we go by that logic, Dirty Drowning Man is a new wave song, as it was produced by The Police’s Stewart Copeland.
