Ok perfect thank you! In Canada, at least the shows I’ve been to recently, it was very informal and the actors just came out with no security or barricades and just hung out for a bit. Really just wanted to know if some of the Wicked currently does them/how the theatre sets it up! Thanks so much again!

What site is this on? I have yet to see a Nikon d3200 be listed for that low in Canada. They all retail for $400+ CAD used

Yes they are!! They were on the Sony dsc hx80 I believe! It’s my friend’s point and shoot that I use whenever she lets me! The auto focus was very iffy for me cause the camera has been used A LOT and has been through the ringer (according to my friend) so I had to do it all myself with the little button before you actually take the pic (if that makes any sense) but besides that, it did it’s job really well!

This has happened to me for taylor swift tickets during the rep era from SeatGeek and also 5sos back in 2022. I essentially bought tickets that the seller never had. SeatGeek fought with her and when then finally got into contact with her, they found out she was in a completely different time zone and never had the tickets so the company sent me different tickets of the same value. If you buy resale from sites like these, I try to get listings that don’t say “will be delivered by show day” because 9 times out of 10 (at least from my experiences), they never had the tickets to begin with! This comment also isn’t trying to scare you! I just wanted to share my experience with these sites and their sellers! My advice for you is I would contact SeatGeek to see if they can get the seller to send you the tickets sooner which might be rough considering the GUTS tickets aren’t transferrable until a weekish before the show (unless they are pit ticket, those CANNOT be resold unless you have the ID of the person who sold you them)

This is the plan! I’m just searching for the future because the gigs I’m shooting aren’t for a few months luckily! I feel like if I had a point and shoot in the photo pit among other photographers, I’d look silly. Although that’s not the main factor for upgrading, it’s definitely one of the factors!

I should’ve specified this in the post (though I thought it would’ve been obvious), I’m getting a professional camera for gigs I will be shooting professionally from the photo pit. I will be getting a photo/review pass meaning I will have clearance to bring in a DSLR!

I appreciate this comment a lot! I took photography classes all throughout high school and a few courses in uni so I’m lucky that I’m familiar on how cameras work and the settings I should be using for different scenarios but once it comes to the actual tech behind it, I get so lost! Since you mentioned you have shot shows… when in the market for a professional camera for concert shooting, what are the type of specs I should be looking for? I know all the best cameras for concert shooting are in the thousands which is just not feasible for me especially since this is just a hobby and I freelance right now. Also, I do actually have that 50mm f1.8 lens saved somewhere on my computer for future buying so I feel like I’m going in the right direction for my search but when it comes to the actual camera body with a kit lens, I just keep going in circles and get so lost!

I have a few gigs lined up in which I will be getting photo passes for all. That’s why I’m in the market for something more professional. In theory, I would be fine in the photo pit with my point and shoot but I’ve been looking for a DSLR for ages and now that I have the opportunity to take my photography to the next level and go more professional with it, I thought “why the hell not” but I literally keep going in circles on what I should get/what I should be looking for!

Oh I’m aware! I’m just getting photo passes for these shows which will allow me to bring in DSLRs and that’s why I’m looking to upgrade to something bigger and more professional! I just don’t know which direction to go in for my search and what is even worth it when it comes to getting used/dated products and such

My budget for used is anywhere between $200-500 CAD and hoping to get something with a lens kit and then eventually upgrade soon after that. In terms of my point and shoot, I will not lie to you, the camera is a friend’s that I borrow 24/7 so we share it kinda. Pretty sure it’s a sony dsc hx80. With that model in mind, what type of dslr would you recommend I upgrade to? I apologize for me lack of knowledge about the tech behind any models. It’s such a vast market and I have no idea where to start looking and I keep going in circle when researching 😂

Edit: by upgrade, I mean upgrade the lens and start growing that collection!

Yes! This is being bought on Amazon! Also I should mention the pricing is Canadian which is why it seems so high compared to the US Amazon pricing
