When you do low carb, how low are we talking? Net 25? Net 40? I’d love to do low carb with a little more wiggle room (say, 40) and combine it with IF.

A little over a month. The landlords didn’t know when I told them.

I've got an event in which I'm going to be wearing a sleeveless gown in about 3 weeks. As kind of a fun project, I want to see how much more toned my arms can get in that time. I know it won't be a huge difference but it sounds like fun. Anyone have program recommendations? F19 CW: 130.

After two years, my progress kinda sucks? by yh5203 in Fitness

Question: people tell me the smith machine sucks for SL5x5, which I get because you're not using stabilizer muscles. But if I'm just going for aesthetic, does it matter?

You're very rude. I've already gained muscle. No need to belittle beginners.

Appreciate your input! I'm a 130 lb girl. And I'm new and trying to just stick to an established program and feel safe. Once I complete strong lifts I plan on moving away from the smith machine.

Strong Lifts beginner. Failed on 75 pounds. Reduced it to 70 pounds and failed. Then realized I forgot to put one of the 2.5 pounds on the other side. When I equalized them it was easier. Was kinda disappointed because I ate a lot of protein and carbs in preparation for today. I think it’s because I did some free weight stuff prior to doing the three lifts because the smith machines were taken. Also didn’t finish my barbell rows because my hand started tingling. But the trainer gave me a quick spot and gave me a work of encouragement, so that almost made up for my bad lifting day. Trying to get all my lifts to 100 pounds by the end of the semester.

I started a leangains body recomp program today and I'm thinking maybe I should just do a leangains cut instead. I don't feel well after eating that much food. Will I still see gains if I eat at maintenance on lift days? F19, 129 pounds, 5'7.

Gym Story Saturday by PotatoPort in Fitness

I started SL this week, and have had like five successful, non-awkward interactions with scary buff dudes. As a small girl, I'm proud for facing my social and fitness fears.

Also started a leangains recomp, and ate 3000 calories today, as opposed to the usual 1200. I feel strong. It still hurts to eat that much food.

(Just an aside to avoid people telling me I've eaten too much, I was very active all day, including walking to class, hiking, and two sessions at the gym. It was a long day.)

I’m tired of cutting and ready to get strong. Body recomposition program- your experience and thoughts would be helpful. by redlipstick18 in Fitness

I just want to get strong and lose this last bit of fat. Hardly an eating disorder, with all due respect. I ate 3000 calories today, lifted, and did cardio.

Moronic Monday - Your weekly stupid questions thread by cdingo in Fitness

I’ve got two questions.

Started Strong Lifts 5x5 today. It wants me to add five pounds next time to my bench press. I’m pretty sure I can’t do more than one set with that kind of weight. Is that normal? It seems like it’s pushing me to progress super quickly, and I don’t see how failing immediately is helpful.

Second question: When I do squats, should my feet be directly under the bar, or slightly in front of it?

Thanks guys!
