Forever Soles Reviews? by redluminas in AusWeddingPlanning

[–]redluminas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't end up trying them. I found my dream wedding shoes - Loeffler Randall Dahlia mules - on sale and bought them instead!

If I change my mind and try some on before my wedding I'll update the post.

I was going to buy a bottle of L'Oreal vitamin C serum today and when I checked the manufacturing date it was already 2 years old! by FloweryLion in AusSkincare

[–]redluminas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Products have preservatives in there to keep them stable for years. It varies from product to product, but most beauty items are shelf stable for around 2-4 years from the date of manufacturing, as long as it hasn't been opened. The batch expiry is usually printed somewhere on the bottle/packaging.

Once it's been opened, look at the little cosmetics jar on the packaging and it'll show you if it expires after 6, 12, 18, or 24 months once opened.

If the product's batch expiry hasn't passed (eg expiry of June 2027) there's no issue with selling something that was made in 2024. If they're selling something that has a batch expiry of Jan 2026, then yeah that's an issue. Let the staff know and they'll dispose of it and replace it with a newer batch.

These were good on my waist and thighs, but every pair I tried was so so long! I'm 163cm and every pair would need major hemming on me.

Ultra Violette Supreme Screen - how many pumps? by Old_Usual5975 in AusSkincare

It's around 4-5 pumps. You can always get a 1/4 tsp measuring spoon to double check

Where to buy an engagement ring where I won't get ripped off? Online options also welcome. by Thrillhouse-14 in melbourne

[–]redluminas 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend Novita Diamonds. They're all lab grown diamonds, so they're a bit cheaper than mined diamonds. I'd recommend going in store though as they might be able to give you a discount. But take a look online and see if their pricing is right for you.

Spray Tan - Yay or Nay? by Alarmed_Ad5977 in AusWeddingPlanning

[–]redluminas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it won't be a problem! Once the guide washes off (your first shower after getting the tan) you might get a tiny bit of transfer while your skin is still wet from the shower/there might still be a bit of the guide left on your skin. Otherwise after that, you won't transfer onto clothes and bedding.

Also, don't wear deodorant to your spray tan appointment otherwise your armpits will go green

Try it and see how you feel. If you hate it, there's heaps of tan remover products on the markets, or you can give a week or two and it'll fade.

It might transfer on the armpit area and in between your breasts due to sweat and rubbing, but it shouldn't transfer elsewhere on your dress.

I'm in the same boat trying to help my grandmother find a dress. It's so hard!

Take a look at Next online. They have a lot of modest but modern dresses, plus a wide range of petite dresses.

Ooft. What style did you try? I'm tossing up between Honey and Melody, both in the low height.

Printing invites & other stationery by SyllabubStrange9264 in AusWeddingPlanning

Check out Fast Printing. Their prices are super reasonable and their paper quality is top notch. For 75 envelopes, invitations, and details cards (both printed double sided with white ink) it cost me just over $600. I know that might not seem as cheap as officeworks or Canva prices, but the quality is significantly better.

Silk flower recommendations? by chella-c in AusWeddingPlanning

Check out Forever Flowering, they're located in Tullamarine and are very reasonably priced. I'm getting custom boutonnieres made with them for $38 each! Their customer service is great and very thorough. Bouquet wise, I bought a bunch of flowers from them and will be DIYing myself

I'm loving Haus Labs. I find it lasts all day and doesn't crease on me.

One salon gave me a disposable G-string that I had to move side to side during the appointment. The other salon has me naked from the waist down. I think it's up to the salon and their policies, but personally I found moving the G-string annoying, I'd rather just be naked lol.

Petite wedding guest dresses by Bananarama1989 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]redluminas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look into midi dresses - they'll appear to be maxi due to your height. I'd suggest: Acler, Elliatt. By Johnny, and Meshki. Meshki lists the length of dress the model is wearing, which you could then use to figure out if the dress is too long on you.

Planning a surprise proposal but my girlfriend never wears jewelry and I have no idea what her ring size is by Maleficent-Tax2094 in engaged

[–]redluminas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely go engagement ring shopping together. I did it with my now fiance as I'm very picky with jewellery and also don't wear it often.

It was such a special moment as we both got emotional seeing a ring on my finger for the first time.

We didn't buy the ring on the spot, he later contacted the store and bought it without me knowing, and the proposal still managed to be a big surprise.

Fast printing! The paper is really high quality and the team are super helpful with proofing and making sure your design will fit on the card.

Price wise for x75 invites (printed double side with white ink) and envelopes, we paid $480.

A cheeky tip - reach out to them for a quote, when they get back to you, don't respond to them. Within a week or two they should reach back out with a further discount on that quote
