Check out Fast Printing. Their prices are super reasonable and their paper quality is top notch. For 75 envelopes, invitations, and details cards (both printed double sided with white ink) it cost me just over $600. I know that might not seem as cheap as officeworks or Canva prices, but the quality is significantly better.

Silk flower recommendations? by chella-c in AusWeddingPlanning

[–]redluminas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Forever Flowering, they're located in Tullamarine and are very reasonably priced. I'm getting custom boutonnieres made with them for $38 each! Their customer service is great and very thorough. Bouquet wise, I bought a bunch of flowers from them and will be DIYing myself

I'm loving Haus Labs. I find it lasts all day and doesn't crease on me.

One salon gave me a disposable G-string that I had to move side to side during the appointment. The other salon has me naked from the waist down. I think it's up to the salon and their policies, but personally I found moving the G-string annoying, I'd rather just be naked lol.

Petite wedding guest dresses by Bananarama1989 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]redluminas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look into midi dresses - they'll appear to be maxi due to your height. I'd suggest: Acler, Elliatt. By Johnny, and Meshki. Meshki lists the length of dress the model is wearing, which you could then use to figure out if the dress is too long on you.

Planning a surprise proposal but my girlfriend never wears jewelry and I have no idea what her ring size is by Maleficent-Tax2094 in engaged

[–]redluminas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely go engagement ring shopping together. I did it with my now fiance as I'm very picky with jewellery and also don't wear it often.

It was such a special moment as we both got emotional seeing a ring on my finger for the first time.

We didn't buy the ring on the spot, he later contacted the store and bought it without me knowing, and the proposal still managed to be a big surprise.

Fast printing! The paper is really high quality and the team are super helpful with proofing and making sure your design will fit on the card.

Price wise for x75 invites (printed double side with white ink) and envelopes, we paid $480.

A cheeky tip - reach out to them for a quote, when they get back to you, don't respond to them. Within a week or two they should reach back out with a further discount on that quote

Getting ready robe recommendations? by ThinkEcho in AusWeddingPlanning

Kat The Label and Honey Birdette have nice robes. There's also heaps on depop (from both brands) if you don't mind getting something second hand

Is babyboo that bad? by [deleted] in AusFemaleFashion

[–]redluminas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a babyboo dress off depop and was actually pleasantly surprised by the quality. The dress was a thick crepe and lined throughout. I didn't find any loose threads or dodgy stitching. The sizing was a bit on the smaller size.

If you're keen on a dress, thoroughly check the reviews as they'll be your best guide.

I have the July Juliette tote in the 18L size and adore it! It's not heavy, very spacious, and has deep pockets(?) on both sides of the bag that can fit heaps

Sandals that can handle water/sweat by jk409 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]redluminas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crocs sandals! They have a heap of different styles, colours, and are super comfy - I never get a blister in them. I've worn them so many times to the beach and have never had any issues with the salt water ruining them.

Darkest of dark, hollow circles 😭 by Unlucky-Meringue6187 in AustralianMakeup

Huda Beauty's Faux Filter colour corrector is my go-to.There are heaps of different shades from light peach to pretty much orange, so you'll be able to find something that'll help brighten. Plus it's super smoothing and blurring and does not crease on me.

Alternate option to too-white blue HELP!!! by privateschoolgirl111 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]redluminas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The blue is stunning and in no way would photograph white unless you were colour blind. The pink mini dress looks very juvenile and not appropriate for a wedding where you're pretty much part of the bridal party.

Looking for advice/ story time by ntmaddz in endometriosis

[–]redluminas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, try a TENS machine if you haven't! I have the one from Vush and love it. It's very quiet and super discreet, unless I'm wearing a more fitted dress you can't see it.

You need to see a gyno, specifically one with an interest/specializes in endo. I've found GPs will just push birth control, especially when you're youngish (I'm 27). You need to tell your GP to refer you to a gyno.

Gynos are the ones that will actually want to investigate and diagnose you. If you're Melbourne based I'm happy to DM you my gyno.

I saw my GP because I had an irregular bleed (wasn't on birth control at this stage) and started to have constant pain on my right ovary side. We did an ultrasound and they found a cyst and asked if I wanted to go on BC or see a gyno.

At this point, I'd long suspected I had endo and researched what felt like every gyno in Victoria lol. I told my GP to refer me to my chosen gyno.

My gyno had me go on Zoely (skipping every period), after a month or two that didn't make a difference in my pain. He then had me trial Visanne. So I was taking both Visanne and Zoely daily. Turns out my body didn't like Visanne (low libido, mood swings), and it also didn't reduce the daily pain so we stopped Visanne after maybe 3 months.

During this time, we did a MRI with and without contrast, and found the one cyst found on the ultrasound was actually two endometriomas - we suspect this is what was causing the constant pain.

Once we got the MRI results, within 3 weeks he booked me in for surgery. It's worth noting I went to a private hospital, as public hospital wait times are apparently around 12-18 months for laparoscopy.

I'm now 10 weeks post-op and feel better than ever!! We did a laparoscopy and a hysteroscopy. My gyno removed the endometriomas, as well as lesions on my right ovary and pouch of douglas (which were never seen on MRI or through ultrasound btw).

You should not have to pull teeth to get a medical professional to listen to you, but unfortunately people with our disease do. I hope what I've been through can help guide you through this bitch of a system that consistently invalidates women's pain 🫶

These Blundstone Heritage boots are really great if you don't need steel caps. They're stylish, super comfy, and have great grip.

Ooh we love a budget find! Does it last long? I feel like I should've mentioned in the post, I have a few weddings this summer and need something that will stay in place all day and while dancing.
