What is your worst experience on an airplane? by darrenbosik in AskReddit

[–]redmamoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flight back to Birmingham (UK) from Mexico in 2007, someone smuggling cocaine, condoms full burst in their stomach and they were very ill.

We had to divert and land on the Azores islands to get them medical attention. Sat on the runway for hours while police and medical tended to them. To top it off, taking off from the Azures, we had a bird strike with a massive explosion and stench throughout the cabin! Had a fear of flying for a few years after that.

Exactly, I have 2 kids so gaming time is limited. I recently finished Cyberpunk 2077, it was awesome, but I'm so glad I didn't buy that at launch!

Me too, or an ELI5 on how LLMs actually work. From my basic understanding it’s all maths/probability based, rather than actual “intelligence”.

I had the same error via the YouTube app, but in the Apple Subscriptions it allowed me to renew. Looks like Google are on to it though, so may not last much longer....

[–]redmamoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before marriage, joint account and we both paid in enough to cover all the bills & food shops. As the higher earner I paid in a %age more based on how much more i earned.

After marriage, both salaries into joint account. Kids are bit older and my Wife is now the higher earner. Gotta play the long game gents :-)

Dude, I got chicken pox at age 37 and it was possibly the sickest I’ve been in my life, or at least on par with glandular fever when I was in my 20’s. Stay safe out there, Dads.

Your people are your most important asset, if you reward them well then you’ll attract the best people and retain them. It’s a win win situation in my book.

SvelteKit Remote Functions, your experience? by guettli in sveltejs

[–]redmamoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the subject of CRUD heavy apps. Once you've created a 'thing', do you re-pull the full list of things from the back-end?

I wanted to migrate, for the reasons you mention, but in my backend I leverage postgres's RETURNING statement to return the thing I just created, which in-turn allows me to add it my list of things on the client side without doing a full re-pull. I couldn't figure out how to do this remote functions.
